If Manchin(WV) becomes a Republican. Will he get challenged in the Republican primary in 2024?

2024 is when Manchin is up for re-election.
Manchin' primary challengers will be Patrick Morrisey-R.
Morrisey defeats Manchin in the Republican primary.

It wouldn’t do him any good. He’d have a primary to fight through as opposed to not.

Why should Democrats bother to show up to vote for a Democrat who votes like a Republican? “Hold your nose and vote for me anyway” sounds like a bad campaign slogan.

of his career. He's never had more influence than he has right now as a Democrat.

I don't like Manchin BUT I'd rather have him in that WV seat voting with Dems 70% of the time rather than a Republican who will never vote with Dems. I won't waste any energy bitching and moaning about Manchin. I'm saving that energy to work on getting more Dem Senators elected in 2022.

And we have a shot since there are more republican senators up for re-election in '22 than Dems.
