VA,GA,and NC are southern states that have Democrats Governors and/or US Senators.
VA has a Republican Governor- Youngkin-R who narrowly won in 2021. Youngkin-R cannot seek re-election in 2025 due to term limits. The Democratic bench for the 2025 VA Gubernatorial Election is Herring-D,Ayala-D,Luria-D,McEachin-D,Spanberger-D, and Wexton-D.
VA has 2 Democratic US Senators- Kaine-D and Warner-D.
GA has a Republican Governor- Kemp-R who is likely to lose re-election in 2022 to Abrams-D.
GA has 2 Democratic US Senators- Ossoff-D and Warnock-D.
NC has a Democratic Governor - Cooper-D and in 2024- Stein-D
NC currently has 2 Republican US Senators(Burr-R and Tillis-R) but in 2022 can elect Beasley-D.
