In IA, Does the Gov. fill a US Senate vacancy? Does the appointee have to be from the same party as

the outgoing US Senator?

IA has a Republican Governor(Kim Reynolds-R) If Grassley is unable to serve out his next US Senate term, Reynolds is likely to appoint Pat Grassley to that seat. If IA elects a Democrat to the IA Governorship, Does the IA Democratic Governor appoint Cindy Axne to that seat?
