Barack Obama

(40,416 posts)I predict that all the people here who have been disappointed in him, myself include, are going to see a different Obama. He knows his legacy will be determined by whether he gets a second term.
Here's the deal. He isn't dumb. He knows that in order to ensure that legacy he is going to have to stir the pot, or upset the apple cart, or a myriad of other mixed metaphors.
I think this last three years has shown Obama just what is at stake, and just what the Republicans are trying to do. Did I say he's not dumb? This is going to be an election season that none of us is ever going to forget, for better or worse.
But I do not think that Barack Obama is going to let us down.

(1,361 posts)Did you watch Frontline last night? Geithner is still in office. We are still gonna be in Afghanistan. The drones will still fly. His Atty General defended John Yoo.
Or if Frontline was too deep for you, the essence of the first 3 years of Obama was summarized by Jimmy Kimmel.
"...Mr. President, remember when the whole country rallied around you in the hopes of a better tomorrow?
That was hilarious."
...and the beat goes on while you dream on.

The mission of the Barack Obama Group is to discuss information and news about the life, career, accomplishments, and presidency of Barack Obama; to provide a haven for those members of Democratic Underground who support the president and his policies; to discuss President Obama's policy positions, speeches, interviews, and other public appearances; to discuss President Obama's political campaigns; and to discuss the causes which President Obama has championed, including health care reform and ending the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Those who have a generally negative view of President Obama and his administration, support his defeat in the 2012 presidential election (in primaries or the general election), or who are generally supportive of those who do, are not welcome in the Barack Obama Group.

I will vote for him even while I am waiting for him to keep his promises.
