Meet Janiya Penny...

Eight-year old Make-A-Wish child Janiya Penny reacts after meeting President Barack Obama as he welcomes her family to the Oval Office, Aug. 8, 2012. She just breaks out in tears of Joy. We all know about the Make a wish Org, and what they do. So Janiya is her happiness to get her wish to meet President Obama.

to put into words how this pic makes me feel. It's so emotional on so many levels.

Thank you, babylonsistah~ I haven't seen this one and I get to see a lot of pics in the Obama Admin.

You probably saw the beautiful gir and the President.

You might have seen the mother and father.

Did you notice Abe Lincoln overlooking the whole event.

There are just some things that transcend. There just are. I guess maybe that's what I love best about this whole Obama era. For many little moments, we get in touch with our better selves. Even in all my cynicism, I'm reminded of that every time I see photos of President Obama meeting people - either as his guests visiting the White House or on the campaign stump or dropping by some burger joint or pizza place. It's the humanity. Sometimes elevated.

I always like your posts--this one especially. Blessings to Janiya, her family and to our President, who cares.
