Man has lucky escape after falling 600ft from mountain... and landing in the path of rescue team

A groom-to-be may have used all his ‘big day’ good luck when he fell 600ft from a killer mountain into the path of a team of rescuers.

David Spain, 28, from Denton, was climbing the treacherous Helvellyn mountain in the Lake District when he was swept off his feet by a gust of wind.

Warehouse worker David was sent tumbling 600ft before miraculously landing at the bottom with a dislocated shoulder, cuts and bruises.

In a further stroke of luck, David, who is due to get married in May, then bumped into a team of mountain rescuers on a training exercise who were able to lead him to safety.
