Fire department recovers prosthetic worth $127,000

CORINTH -- On Sunday, the Corinth Fire Department reunited a lost prosthetic leg with its owner.

The original call came in Thursday from Saratoga County Dispatch -- a male amputee had lost his prosthetic leg -- valued at $127,000 -- off the back of his jetski in the Hudson River.

Corinth Fire Department responded to the Spier Falls boat launch with divers, and conducted a brief search, but did not find the leg.

On Friday, divers searched for another three hours, again without finding the leg.

Sunday, the Corinth Dive Team dove again, with assistance from Hadley-Luzerne Fire, ROG Scuba, Kraken Scuba, and Water Horse Adventures. After about 20 minutes, they found the leg, in about 15 feet of water.

The owner was contacted, and the prosthetic returned.
