Russia professor admits murder after woman's arms found in bag

A well-known Russian historian has confessed to murdering his lover - a former student - his lawyer says, after he was found in a river with a backpack containing a woman's arms.

Oleg Sokolov, 63, was drunk and fell into the river as he tried to dispose of body parts, local media said.

Police then found the decapitated body of Anastasia Yeshchenko, 24, at his home.
...
Students described him as both a talented lecturer who spoke French and did impressions of Napoleon and as a "freak" who called his lover "Josephine" and asked to be addressed as "Sire", AFP reported.

It says he was planning on committing suicide dressed as Napoleon after this; but trying to dispose of body parts seems more like someone thinking of getting away with it.

My daughter-in-law and I were just talking about this yesterday. A guy in my city "allegedly" killed his mother and decapitated and dismembered her and then put what was left in a suitcase and dumped it in a dumpster. The dumping was caught on camera. Disturbing.

Someone killing someone in a fit of rage is one thing, but decapitation and dismemberment has got to be a LOT of work and take some time and a whole 'nother level of crazy.

and that's why I questioned if it was real. "Napoleon Bonaparte", maybe so few know his real last name nowadays. As a culture we're going illiterate.

After all, who hasn't gotten drunk and tossed body parts into a river? Youthful indiscretion.

You have to look at the reasons he did it to know if it was wrong.

We aren't even sure if they were her arms.

He's too stupid to have been able to plot out such a complicated plan, someone else is responsible.

It was a beautiful walk, a perfect walk.

FAKE NEWS!!!! It was hillary and obama that did it!

No stumbling! No Fall!!!

You can't investigate him. Period.
