Devastating tornado rips off woman's roof... and she sleeps through the whole thing!

An Alabama woman slept soundly on her couch on Friday while a tornado ripped off part of her roof and damaged most of her home.

She finally awoke when firefighters and neighbors came to check on her.

Betty Russell, who will turn 77 on December 26, said she slept through the violent storm Thursday night after she dozed off on the sofa watching TV.

If she just sleeps well, she's lucky at her age! And lucky that she crashed on the couch that night...

She should play the lottery!

One night, a drunk hit a parked car right across the street from my house (and my bedroom is in the front of the house), making a (I am told) ear splitting bang. Neighbors down the street thought that something has exploded in their house. Then cop cars and sirens. I was told that people came to see what had happened from two streets away. I slept.

at a police convention when we were just a young couple, he was a cop. Large convention & cops took up the whole hotel.

As per lore, a lot of the young cops were acting up. One of them (drunk, I guess) pulled the fire alarm. The friggin bell (huge thing) was right outside our room's door. I slept. Never heard a thing.

Next morning we all met up for breakfast and everyone is laughing about the people out in the parking lot in pj's during the drill.

My husband had stayed in our room (with me still sleeping) watching the firemen & crowd from our window. He said that he would have woke me if it was a real fire.

I'm still like that once I get to sleep. I have a little trouble falling asleep & I can't sleep as many hours as I did when I was younger tho.

but I wouldn't be surprised if it happened to me. I really do sleep like the dead. I only have problems getting to sleep about once a week on average, and I can still sleep in late when I get a chance. Maybe after I retire, I will stop sleeping in so late, but I am not betting on it.....my mother never was one to get up early. I feel very sorry for people who can't sleep. I had insomnia one night in my life after taking a prescription Zyrtec D....never again.

Sergeant threw a flashbang right next to my hooch. Didn't hear a thing. He had to come in and drag me out.
