Wild boar surround woman near Rome and steal food shopping

A herd of wild boar surrounded a woman who had just come out of a supermarket near Rome and stole her shopping, rekindling a debate about the presence of the animal in Italian towns and cities.

A video posted on social media on Thursday shows the boars approaching and cornering the woman in a supermarket car park in the village of Le Rughe.

The animals, four adults and two young boars, pursue the woman as she backs away, attempting in vain to keep them at bay. The angry woman is then forced to drop the shopping bag on the ground, which is immediately raided by the animals.

The little ones start eating the contents of the bag in the car park, others take what they can and run away.

3. "Wild boar" is the normal name used for the whole species when non-domesticated

If they just called them "boar" it would give the impression they were male domesticated pigs, whether feral or not.

Wildlife population can be controlled. Extermination and hunting are not the only solutions.

Dang! Feral pigs are mean, and will attack people.

They're a problem in the area of CA where I used to live, destroying gardens and landscaping. I never saw them on my land. There was a big investor who basically bought a mountain to pound it down to gravel to build roads. Would be dynamiting regularly, and big dump trucks running constantly. This was right on Hwy 180, the main tourist thoroughfare to King's Canyon and Sequoia National Parks.

The investor went to the mountain top to look over his domain, and was attacked by a pack of wild pigs. Unfortunately, he survived.
