Former Beer Theif Finds God, Pays Couple Back For Beer He Stole
We report a lot of crime stories on the news, but very few turn out like this one.
A Villa Hills woman called Local 12 on Monday to let us know that a chronic petty thief who has victimized her for years, has come clean-sort of. Local 12 news reporter Joe Webb has a story of how the Lord moves in mysterious ways.
Dee and Leo Samad have a nice backyard that they open up to friends and neighbors. There's a beer tap in the bar and cold cans in the fridge. It's out in the open and subject to the honor system. But as it's said, there's no honor among thieves. "There for awhile my husband kept saying,'I know I put a case of beer in there and there's only 5 or 6 cans left. But what are you going to do? We put locks on it."
But the locks got to be a hassle, so they left it unlocked. They just figured it was friends of their kids and not a big deal. So last Monday, when Dee Samad got home, she noticed her back gate was open. She knew it wasn't open when she left. She figured once again, someone was in the back stealing beer.
