Dumb Criminals: Bellevue Man Accused Of Taking Truck Out For Extended Test Drive
Just ask a Belleview car dealership that called the cops on a Summerfield man on Friday for taking an older-model pickup truck from their lot for what was described by the salesman for a test drive.
As it turns out, the man was away for three hours, during which time he went to work. Eventually, he was found by a sheriff's deputy and arrested, according to Belleview Police Department officials.
An employee at Prestige Auto, 6041 SE Abshier Blvd., told Officer Jody Backlund of the Belleview Police Department that sometime after 1 p.m., a man, later identified as Lloyd Edward Kraft, entered the business and asked to test drive a red 1997 Ford F-250 valued at $5,000.
Kraft gave the employee his phone number and a copy of his driver's license was obtained by the worker, who gave Kraft the keys so he could test drive the truck.
