Bradenton man (guess which state!) calls 911 twice because he couldn't lock his door
A Bradenton man was charged with resisting arrest without violence and misuse of the 911 system after deputies say he called 911 twice for a non-emergency reason, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Mark L. Sharon, 55, was arrested at 2:26 a.m. Monday. According to a report, deputies arrived at Sharon's home along 116th Street West in Bradenton, after he called 911 because he couldn't lock his door.
A deputy described him as "uncooperative" during their conversation and told Sharon that he misused the 911 system and would be arrested if he calls for a non-emergency reason. Sharon appeared heavily intoxicated, according to a report.
Less than an hour later, deputies say Sharon called 911 again and told the dispatcher: "Thank you very much, they sent them here pounding on my door." According to a report, deputies arrived at his home again and saw that there was no emergency. They tried to arrest Sharon, who tried to flee. He was eventually handcuffed and transported to jail.
