When a deputy asked Frances Riney, who appeared out of it behind the wheel of a Saturn, for her drivers license, she handed him a bag of chips.
Asked again, the 60-year-old woman presented the St. Lucie County Sheriffs deputy with a bottle of water before taking a swig from a bottle of vodka.
In the end, Riney was jailed on a DUI charge in connection with the 5:40 p.m. Nov. 16 incidents, according to a recently released affidavit.
A deputy went to the American Legion in the 1000 block of Savanna Club Boulevard in Port St. Lucie for a report of a woman in her vehicle who appeared out of it.
