The State of the Progressive Movement

We believe in community, security and liberty and we will never back down. We want to hear what these values mean to you and hear your ideas on how to move America forward.

Please take a moment to a let us know your thoughts.

What do our shared values mean to you?

What should be our priorities for the coming year?

How will we work together to move America forward in 2011?

1. Caring for one another, being ready to compromise to get results, and supporting the Democratic Party come hell or high water because it has done so much for our country in the 20th Century.

2. Re-electing the President, Taking back the House and expanding our majority in the Senate, and electing good Democrats around the country. Presenting a unified front in order to scare the Republicans to death.

3. Hopefully well. As John F. Kennedy said, ask not what you're country can do for you, but what you can do for your country. We all have to be prepared to set our egos aside and work for the common, progressive good.

Enjoy.

many on DU conveniently forget that Howard was the bane of the liberals in Vermont because he compromised with the enemy to achieve a very lofty goal: Healthcare coverage for ALL of Vermonts children.

Like the magic pony crowd with Obama's healthcare bill, he was almost excommunicated from the progressive movement there.

Because practical reality dictated that the perfect was the enemy of the good.

Howard supports the President. No President is or can be perfect. But according to many at DU, who have given Howard saint status, he's a huge disappointment because he isn't.
