The move, which comes off as obvious grandstanding and an attempt at distracting from the fact that Sanders has done virtually no congressional fundraising of his own (apart from three fringe candidates who endorsed him), has prompted the Clinton campaign to fire back publicly: As Senator Sanders faces nearly insurmountable odds, he is resorting to baseless accusations of illegal actions and poisoning the well for Democratic candidates up and down the ticket. It is shameful that Senator Sanders has resorted to irresponsible and misleading attacks just to raise money for himself.

There are no words I can use right now to express my loathing for this despicable ******.

(15,696 posts)Out of all of the comments, there was one lone BS defender, whose entire argument was, "you people are just alienating all of the new Bernie supporters!"
That's the extent of the defense: we'll take our votes and go home.
To which I say, "There's the door."
Cha
(297,190 posts)do that, too.
My answer: We don't care. We'll do it without you.

(41,976 posts)A lot of verbiage and babble, based on one article from what I can tell. Hillary's campaign numbers are all on open secrets. There is no "there" there.

(3,335 posts)other members of the Democratic Party, that he had written letters for others in previous years which amounted to millions of dollars raised. He doesn't say whether he personally raised millions of dollars for candidates from his personal letters to constituents, or whether those candidates raised millions from his and other members of congress sending letters.
Well he tried to pull that same speech on "This Week with George Stephanapolis's' show and George asked him specifically about that comment. Bernie was forced to backpeddle when asked had he raised any money for other Dems or written ANY letters on behalf of fellow Dems, and stated that he HAD NOT raised any money for Dems during this campaign cycle, but had written letters in previous election campaigns.
Personally, I don't consider writing letters to be fundraising in the same sense that you would consider when someone has a Fundraising Event like George Clooney hosted for Hillary and those others in the Democratic Party. I you just write a letter, a person can respond to that request or not, but you really haven't done much. Those of us who have been on the recipient side of those emails or letters, know that these mass mailing are done by others. If it's an email, you just attach a donors list and push a button. It's not really any sweat off your back to have done so.

(24,396 posts)is .5% - 3% if you're lucky. And the letters are written by someone else. The candidate doesn't even sign them. You either have the person's signature on file as a graphic element or you use an autopen.
Sanders has done less than nothing.

(11,581 posts)It is a code. They get riled up and then make trouble at the primary voting sites. If they protest or swarm it intimidates Hillary supporters who don't behave the same way. It might give Sanders an advantage (even a little bit helps) with the final numbers and he is keeping his base engaged, albeit in a negative way. It is a revolution after all.

(51,550 posts)One of my favorites:
Bernie signed the same agreement Hillary did. http://www.politico.com/story/2015/11/bernie-sanders-2016-fundraising-dnc-21555916 So not only is this guy a.) not raising funds for downticket Dems despite b.) having signed a joint fundraising agreement to do so c.) he's attacking Hillary for actually raising money to help downticket Dems d.) lying about this e.) suing the DNC over this like f.) fundraising off this lie --but only for himself of course, because screw helping downticket Dems.
Oh and I forgot the part where he thinks he's going to get the Party's establishment to over turn the will of the people by overriding the pledged delegate. You know? the Party he's crapping on...again. And btw, so the DNC will have to spend money/time on this crap lawsuit rather than say, defeating Repubs across the country.
I mean of course Bernie doesn't need a Dem Senate to actually pass any of his unicorn policies. Nope, of course not! He'll have The Revolution! and three million people outside Mitch McConnell's office. Which would be so much more effective than say, working with Majority Whip Schumer to get the rest of the Senate to pass things.
I keep on thinking Bernie will stop sucking, and making me hate him more, but I guess not.
