HILLARY CLINTON GROUP: On Susan Sarandon and Unicorns
This comment comes a day after Susan Sarandon's Bernie harangue on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert. It was obvious that she wanted to be there not so much to promote her new movie, but to rant on about Hillary. See, Hillary BETRAYED Susan--it's personal. Apparently Hillary is personally responsible for the War in Iraq (huh--I always thought the main responsibility there lay with Dubya and Cheney and Co., but what would I know, not being a famous actor and all), Hillary is personally responsible for international fracking, AND she is in it with Monsanto to poison our food. Okey-dokey.
Susan is all about a brokered convention. See, Bernie is going to win big in all the remaining primaries what with them being open and all (not really--I saw a DU post earlier today that kinda set the record straight). And she and Bernie are going to set us ALL straight on the platform. Again, okey-dokey. She came across to me as a pathetic child who believes in leprechauns, unicorns, and sparkle ponies. She fervently believes that one 74-year-old guy from Vermont who is struggling to run a national campaign will single-handedly do EXACTLY what Susan wants. If he can't, I'm guessing there will be hell to pay. Hillary couldn't deliver unicorns and sparkle ponies to Susan 10 years ago, so now Hillary must pay. Sadly, too many of Bernie's supporters fall into that category. They think one man by himself can create magic. President Obama would be happy to explain otherwise. Hillary is experienced, tested, and a realist.

We can than the entire mouth organ of the Sanders campaign for getting Bush and Cheney off the hook for their amoral war.

4. The Sarandons of this world make it easy for conservatives to roll their eyes at liberals.
Sarandon can AFFORD to have her unicorns. Most people aren't so lucky.
What's really disappointing is how celebrities take a smidgen of questionable info and run with it like it's a scientific truth. They scour the internets for anything that corroborates their opinion, and that makes it a fact. Bill Maher is one of the very worst offenders in this regard. He learns some surface-level talking points about X, spews them about like he's revealing some great hidden truth and then gets shot down by the conservative guests who need only offer a counterpoint. If I hear Mark Ruffalo give his entry level talk on fracking once more I'll shoot myself. Sanders is cut from the same shallow cloth. No wonder they all band together. |

Love that she is a passionate activist and represents a strong, independent voice of true feminism. She has proven she can't be bullied by pseudo feminism.

9. Personally,
I like my feminists based in facts and reality.
I do enjoy Susan Sarandon as a performer--always have and always will. I don't appreciate it when someone with her visibility spouts nonsense loudly and repeatedly. It doesn't help the conversation. |

You mean, like, she wouldn't put up with people coming to a protected group to stir up trouble? Wow! She sounds great! Does she give out free rainbow farting unicorns too?

6. Sarandon was a big supporter of John Edwards ... a man who ALSO voted for the IWR.
Yet, in the case of John Edwards, his IWR vote didn't matter... it never came up... she never sad a thing about it. She supported him anyway.
But with Hillary, her IWR vote is suddenly a deal-breaker. Hypocrisy, thy name is Susan Sarandon. What a fraud she is! |

8. It is not going to be a brokered convention, the first vote will determine the winner,
There will not be a second vote. The possibility of a brokered convention may happen in the GOP convention if there is not a clear winner. In fact to could be a big possibility if there would be a second vote the pledged delegates could change their votes and they would vote for Hillary. Hillary only needs 215 more delegates and she will have the required number, I think it will be higher.

12. Sarandon & Robbins did not care that John Edwards voted for Iraq War when they endorsed him
2008
http://blogs.reuters.com/talesfromthetrail/2008/01/07/actors-robbins-sarandon-hit-the-road-for-john-edwards/ Tales from the Trail
Actors Robbins, Sarandon hit the road for John Edwards By Jeff Mason January 8, 2008 DOVER, N.H. — Academy Award-winning actor Tim Robbins, famous for his part in hit film The Shawshank Redemption, is playing a new role: opening act for Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards. The actor-director and his partner Susan Sarandon campaigned for the former North Carolina senator one day before New Hampshire voters go to the polls in a crucial vote that could shape the rest of the primary contests. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_positions_of_John_Edwards Iraq and the Middle East[edit]
Edwards voted for the 2002 Iraq War Resolution, and was one of 16 Senators to co-sponsor an early version of that bill, Joe Lieberman's S.J Res 46, which was not brought to the floor for a vote.[30] Three years after the war began, in November 2005, Edwards said that the decision to go to war in Iraq was a mistake. He apologized for his vote, saying that the intelligence reports which led to the decision were "deeply flawed and, in some cases, manipulated to fit a political agenda." He favors gradual troop withdrawal and concurrent training of Iraqi troops, as well as removing American contractors, instead awarding such reconstruction contracts to Iraqi businesses to promote the Iraqi economy and reduce unemployment in Iraq.[31] |
