BHO's routine was head and shoulders above that feeble effort by Wilmore. I usually like the guy, but last night was pretty much a "fail" for Larry.

By the look on her face and in her body language, you could tell that Michelle was totally grossed out by Wilmore's over-the-edge schtick.

32. I think you're going to find Larry Wilmore's set gets better with time.

Obama's job is to poke, prod, and make people laugh. And he did that--he got his zings back at a few people, and he got everyone rolling. The job of the HIRED GUN, though, isn't to do that--his (or her, but it's been a while...) job is to AFFLICT THE COMFORTABLE. And oh, he DID. He didn't spare the horses--when I saw Don Lemon flip him the bird for calling him an "alleged" journalist (very fair criticism) I knew he'd hit a homer. And his BIG FINISH, about the Quarterback to POTUS? That resonated.

33. Well, humor is a very personal taste. I found his "Zodiac Killer" schtick to be

pure tedium and his awkward implication that V.P. Biden plays housemaid and lackey to the Obamas to be just plain offensive.

My reference is always Colbert's epic smack down in 2006--done with rapier-sharp wit and surgical finesse.

Wilmore's routine was like a sledge-hammer bludgeoning by comparison.

34. I agree about the personal aspect of humor, but I do think Wilmore will age like a fine wine.

I didn't "like" everything he said, but I appreciated his POV even as I didn't "agree" with all his comments.
