Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumI am convinced more than ever after seeing BS at the last presser that
he is just one more angry, evil old man.

(3,284 posts)He makes my stomach turn. How can anyone buy his schtick?
Thinkingabout
(30,058 posts)why, because he is not going to have enough delegates to win the nomination? It will be over after the first vote, guess he wants to lose one last time.

(2,792 posts)His mental and physical health appear to have taken a beating in the last several months of his campaign.
It's as if they just let him keep on doing his thing, while they collect contributions. He is too old to campaign for president, and he is certainly too old to be president. The stresses and strains, along with his unrelenting anger, would disable him. He doesn't handle stress very well, and stress can kill even a young person.
Thinkingabout
(30,058 posts)count on one hand how many times Obama has shown his anger, I am still waiting for a time for Sanders not sounding angry.

(2,792 posts)A president has to exercise self-control in the most trying circumstances.
Bernie simply lacks this fundamental quality.

(12,448 posts)I remember her sitting for eleven hours at the Benghazi hearing. I'm sure she was yelling "fuck you!" inside but she remained cool and collected and answered their stupid questions calmly.
I can't even imagine Sanders in the same situation.

But truthfully - I DO worry after his health. He is looking poorly, tired and confused. He needs to call it a day for his own sake, not to mention that of the country and the party.

(1,473 posts)I think it's because those same rabid supporters will turn and stab him in the back if he doesn't go to the convention. He's trapped himself , he didn't see this coming.
After all, as they've said, they didn't donate so he could move Hillary to the left.
This forum and the numerous threats to anyone who dare say anything negative about Bernie or anything positive about Hillary show these people to be mean , acting on emotion and devoid of any reasoning ability where this primary election is concerned.

(1,473 posts)That he's just a fighter who was plowed over by "the establishment"! his adoring fans will blanket him with more hero worship OR
he can concede today and instantly become one of "the establishment". and they will rake his little white fanny all over the coals.

(15,805 posts)Sanders has been very good at convincing his followers that he's winning this thing, even as he continues to fall farther and farther behind Hillary's lead. Now he say's he's going to fight his way to victory on the convention floor, even if he splits the party as the spoiler candidate. Eight years ago when Hillary faced defeat, she conceded before the convention, realizing that challenging the frontrunner was not only futile, but it would damage her political future as well as hurt the Democratic Party. Sanders has no such worries, and as this is his last hurrah, he has nothing to lose by staying the course to keep those donations rolling in.

(24,397 posts)and the apparent waning interest in his losing campaign, these attempts to stay relevant look more and more desperate on his part. The soft support has already left the building. The firmer support is leaving as well (donations dropping). All that's left are the zealots, who by the convention will consist of the diehards who are still with him and the rest who will have thrown Sanders under the bus for lying to them about his chances of winning and for taking what little bit of cash they had lying around.

(2,792 posts)When he entered the primary, I was an enthusiastic supporter and donated to his campaign. When O'Malley entered the race, I switched to him. O'Malley, a life-long Democrat, seemed to have a more stable character and temperament than Bernie. O'Malley was determined and optimistic, while Bernie appeared angry and negative.
I think that Bernie's tragic character flaws have finally caught up with him, and the nefarious results are plainly visible except to "true believers." The campaign is winding down, as the candidate blames everyone and everything but himself. It is almost like a Shakespearean tragedy. It cannot end well.
Very, very sad. The Bernie who goes back to the Senate will most likely be a broken man.
