I changed my mind. Why I’m not voting for Bernie in the Oregon primary~ DKos Article (HRC GP)

1) After reading "America Has Never Been So Ripe for Tyranny" by Andrew Sullivan in NY Magazine it hit me like a gut punch to the stomach that Trump could win the election by changing his “act” enough to appeal to on-the-fence voters who couldn’t imagine an unhinged maniac as president even though they lean Republican and despise Hillary.

2) Bernie dropped his positive rhetoric about why he was the better candidate and has switched almost entirely to why Hillary is unfit to be president. This gives ammunition to Trump and it is naive to think he won’t use it to great effect. Trump has proved to be a masterful manipulator. He played role he needed to in order to make “The Apprentice” a success, and he crafted a similar but equally effective act to win over supporters when he went live on the stump as the candidate of the angry, fearful and disgruntled Americans yearning for a savior to “make America great again.”

3) This is the clincher. Bernie is now saying he will take his fight to the convention where he will work on winning over enough super-delegates to be the nominee for the party. I think this will be a losing battle because Hillary is indeed the establishment candidate (as Bernie has been saying all along, as if this disqualifies her entirely from being president - and it doesn’t). Hillary will end up being the nominee; but a contentious convention will leave the party in disarray. It will leave her badly damaged as she embarks on her campaign against Trump.

support. He took his shot and he lost, end of story. If he wants to run again in 4 or 8 years, maybe he'll have learned some lessons, like Clinton did, and will improve his campaign so he doesn't repeat his mistakes.

When they've lost. When they're rejected. When you break up with them.

10. When he is 78 or 82? I think he's going to be a little old for it.

Even Hillary is a bit old at 68, but still she is the youngest of the bunch between her, Trump and Bernie. Being a woman, she might actually live longer at least, not always the case, but often.

12. I don't want to be accused of denying Bernie his 2nd chance because of his age, though.

If he wants to run at 78, that's up to him. Personally, I find the lack of younger progressives being boosted by Sanders himself as his successors to be a bad sign. It's as if Bernie doesn't want anyone else to be getting credit or attention, as if anything positive for any other progressive has to come out of what he considers "his share" of accolades.

His movement is all about him, otherwise he would have been boosting more progressives besides himself this whole time.

he will be viewed as a disruptive outsider, tossed aside or shone the door, and the Democrats will unite behind Sec. Clinton up and down all the state elections.

I picture a disgruntled frowny-face in the corner pouting and wagging his finger as the folks wearing Blue rock & roll into the General Election.

and outlines the reasons he changed his primary vote to Hillary. I wonder how many more people Bernie is turning off and Trump is inspiring a vote for HRC?

are finally waking up and thinking: "Holy shit, Trump has a chance at the White House!" Finally. We've been saying all along that the Bernie or Bust movement helps Trump. Simple logic: If you don't support the Democratic nominee you are helping the Republican nominee (which increasingly looks like it will be Trump). I know the Bernie or Busters don't want to hear that, but to them all I can say is "Ralph Nader." Trouble is, the more rabid of them simply don't care.

bernie's message has been sent to Hillary. To the extent she ever will, she has heard it. There’s no downside for her to heeding it. She really hasn’t been bought and paid for by corporate and Wall Street interests. Even Bernie knows this, but it doesn’t stop him from painting her as a corporate shill.

thank you!

13. Andrew Sullivan was on Chris Matthews last night and they butted heads

Only because Tweety Matthews did his usual interrupting and over talking his guests. Prince Sullivan went into Darth Vader mode and said something to the effect of 'let me answer your question' and glared at Tweety. Sullivan's point was that the media has treated Trump like entertainment and for high ratings when he is actually a real threat to the country and the world. Their interaction will be interesting the next time Sullivan is on.
