Methinks the lady dost protest too much!

Jane is out there again saying they are of course doing things Bernie's way and he is contesting it all the way to the convention, even thought he issued a different statement a week ago. Anyone besides me getting a Ronnie-Nancy vibe - or am I just too old?

I'll be glad when it's over...not that it isn't already over.

Something like, "well, I used to respect him, but there are better economists out there, and anyway, I don't read him, so..."

And she then burst into full-on Bernie Stump Speech mode.

I don't have enough posts to start a new thread here..the rules here are byzantine and I have no ambition to try to understand them.

So, I'll throw this in as a response to a Jane related thread:

I worked in higher ed for years, this type of person is very familiar to me. It's kind of SOP for those who are big fish in little academic ponds. Blechhh.

9. Yes, it was disgusting how Jane ran that poor little college into the ground.

That is probably part of the reason Bernie has not released all of his tax returns going back even 8 years as Hillary has. As another DUer pointed out, when Jane was basicaly fired (a "resign or you'll be fired" situation) in 2011 by the Board of Trustees as president of Burlington College, she negotiated a $200,000 severance (commonly called in corporate America, a "golden parachute&quot . Nice if you can get it, but she received the money as the college she led was struggling to stay alive. Taking that much money from a college with under 300 students and many hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt? That's not exactly consistent with Bernie's message, and something that really rubs a lot of people the wrong way. That $200,000 payment should be in their undisclosed prior income tax returns.

This is an important document in many ways.

ETA: Bernie calls himself a democratic socialist, but he is in fact an authoritarian socialist. It appears that Jane is cast in the same mold.

And I don't even care about Cleveland or Atlanta. (This Texas woman is waiting for the Spurs game), but Jane is just so unbelievably naive and unreasonable. Plus, IMHO, a bit dishonest.

Jane, Susan Sarandon, Rosario Dawson, Cornell West, Killer Mike, Paul Song. None of them are helping him at all.
