write a heckuva LOT better than this, LOL. This level of writing is symptomatic of a lazy thought process and superficial logic. Just as he does now, Bernie said what he thought was wrong with the system, but did zilch to improve it or provide concrete suggestions to do so. He's the Pot Shot Candidate, a gadfly, and little else.

He takes the pot shots (talks the talk), but doesn't walk the walk. What has Bernie ever actually DONE to improve any of the things that he railed against then or rails against now? He's had at least 25 years in Congress, with lots of amendments passed, but with no project or cause where his actions have actually helped make life better, or at least easier, for all - or even for any one.

Sorry, Bernie, but you can’t “contest” the Democratic Convention. Those aren’t the rules.

First things first; Sanders seems to think that because Hillary Clinton will not have the “magic number” in pledged delegates alone, that this makes the July DNC “contested.” This shows an amazing lack of knowledge of the process. The correct term Sanders should be using is “brokered”, however terminology aside, it still will not apply to the convention. A convention becomes brokered only if a candidate fails to secure a majority of overall delegates after the first ballot, this includes ALL delegates including the super delegates. Sanders appears to be operating under the misguided idea that the first ballot is pledged delegates only and that therefore Secretary Clinton will not have the required majority. However, as the first ballot will include all delegates, Secretary Clinton will have a majority and there will be nothing to “contest” or broker.

And, one who would not be dealing in facts.

The contradiction between these two strategies by the Sanders campaign is disturbing and exposes a new level of hypocrisy. In his first argument, Sanders says that the super delegates should vote based on popular vote from their state, but in the second argument he is saying they should ignore the will of the people and vote for him because he is polling slightly better. He is, in effect saying he wants to steal the nomination not just from Secretary Clinton, but from the members of the democratic party who have given her a decisive victory.

Regardless of Sanders strategies, back-up plans and other machinations, there will not be a brokered convention and Senator Sanders will not be the nominee. He may spend the next two months pretending otherwise, but the democratic nomination process is over for everyone but Sanders and his most confused supporters.

sanders may or may not be "misguided".. either way he's trying to dupe the American People and we've already had too many Presidents like that.. No Thank you, BS.

The truly disgusting part about Bernie's contested convention aspirations is how he thinks he's entitled to override the will of POC/women.

I'm sure they were members of the $27 "recurring donations" club and they cut off the flow, too.

Normally I wouldn't take such joy in the misery of others, but these people were--of all my mostly polite neighbors--the quintessential "bro personality." Insufferable. Demanding. Berating. Mocking. Fucking AGGRESSIVE, too. You MUST believe! He WILL win! We are SMART, you are STUPID! ... that kind of thing! And they wonder why no one is led to their cause?

They keep trying to cram that crap down your throat, and how many ways can you politely yet firmly say no? It gets so ya look both ways before leaving the house--rather like trying to avoid Hyacinth Bucket!!

After a while, it became an exercise in harassment.

Tue May 3, 2016, 03:54 AM
May 2016

....thing from my mind. When I was scrambling for affordable daycare and after school care, I could only imagine what it was like to have the choice to stay home.

I counted on the public schools to be good -- sadly, when my kids were young California schools were suboptimal. But never did I ever imagine that the solution was to defund them even further by giving tax money to home schoolers and charter schools. If we do that, the public school system becomes the last resort for the poor and for kids nobody else wants.

The public schools of this nation have always been the great melting pot for the majority of our children. We have always had private schools for the rich and the religious and others who wish to segregate their precious snowflakes from rubbing elbows with children who come from families who don't look like or speak like or share the beliefs of their own families. Public school is where young people hopefully meet others who are different from their own families.

It's called democracy, and I believe it has incalculable value.

The more we learn about Bernie's lifelong beliefs, the flakier he looks and the more I wish the media had taken him seriously enough to vet him early on. Now it's too late for that, and it will be up to Hillary's campaign (over the howls of his true believers) to get the word out by publishing HIS OWN WORDS.
