He literally disinvited 83% of the previously picked delegates and went out and found different (more rabid?) Alaska delegates to represent him at the convention.

the less I like and respect him and his wife. They sure seem to be acting like shills while crying victim. I don't like where this is going and I think the more the democratic electorate know about this, those who aren't the unreasonables, the less support he'll get.

Be such lovely just desserts if this came back to bite them in their mega hypocritical a$$. I think your suggestion up thread that he wants more "rabid fans" has merit.

He said the rule is being misapplied by the Sanders campaign, “It’s there in case there are people there who aren’t suppose to be there, but never before to willow down and only allow certain people to even run for elections. It’s shameless what they are doing.”

And Guttenberg isn’t buying the diversity explanation either, saying,“That’s not how its done. You don’t pre-determine who the candidates are by willowing it down to 50 because you don’t know who is going to be elected. Filling out the diversity happens as you are having the elections, not before hand. That’s a horrible excuse for eliminating people and it’s never been done that way. They are creating problems that have never existed before” and “The Sanders campaign is disenfranchising people.”

Guttenberg went on to point out a what he sees as a major irony of the situation “The problem is the Sanders campaign plays as if they are come with a higher calling, but they are doing the things they accuse the DNC and the Hillary campaign of doing, and now they are doing it.”

We already know camp BS are hypocrites, the anointed one whines, they treat their fans like mushrooms, and getting the truth out them is non-existent.

So what's up!

First things first: He gets 13 delegates. Almost 300 people volunteered to be one of them. He's gotta thin the herd SOMEHOW, right?

I read the article. Bernie says he wants people from All Over Alaska to be among his delegates. I can live with that, as I hope all of you can. Problem is, most of the people who want to be Bernie Delegates In Philadelphia live near the state's road network. Bernie wanted people who live off the road network to also be delegates. If you want a reasonable distribution of drive-to-the-store residents and fly-to-the-store residents, you're gonna have to hack and slash on the DTTS roster.

I seriously doubt Bernie's people are going to be faithless electors; if DU's Bernie contingent is any indication, the people who are Bernie enough to be delegates would vote for Genghis Khan over Hillary...and it appears they might get the chance.

He wants more delegates from Philly and he unceremoniously dumped hundreds from Alaska?

Sounds like he's pissed off the Alaskans proper. What do you mean by "cluelessness as to the realities of Alaska"?

That camp BS is clueless? Any ideas if there would be repercussions?

Thanks jmow~

Alaska has 16 delegates. Bernie gets thirteen of them.

270 people applied to be one of those thirteen delegates. Most of them live in the "road network" region.

The red lines on the map are the road network. Notice where it doesn't go - namely, all the coastal cities. Unless you want to spend a few days on the Alaska Marine Highway, or you have your own plane, you as a coastal dweller will not go to Anchorage for the convention.

This is all well and good until someone from the Lower 48 attempts to apply what works in his state to Alaska. And it's especially bad when that someone comes from a state as small as Vermont. To meet his goal of having all areas of the state be represented, he had to hack away road network people to accommodate non-road-network types.

So should the delegates. It's cherry picking, as if he stacked his Idaho delegation with urban PoC. And he is showing a complete disregard for people who've put in the groundwork. This is the same lack of respect he shows for the super delegates who might have served the party for 40 years. He dismisses that effort.

When asked if he thought the situation could drag down turn out to the state convention Guttenberg said he thought it would, “Why would you go? All people want is the chance (to go to the national convention), but they are telling them there is no chance.”"
