Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumI just threw up a little bit in my mouth a few minutes ago!
While I was dropping my son off at school, I heard on the radio that there is talk of a Donald Rump/Back Bench Bernie ticket!
Hopefully, Sanders has too much integrity for THAT...ooops, never mind!
Yuck!
PEACE!

(3,166 posts)nominee, comments like this are not helpful, no way would Bernie would do this, give the man more credit, he might not be your cup of tea but I am sure there is a lot of his platform you agree with
MarianJack
(10,237 posts)...his conduct in the course of this campaign has caused me to lose every bit of respect that I ever had for him.
His conduct in the coming weeks will determine if I ever choose to respect him again.
The reporting of the speculation about Sanders possibly being considered to be Donald Rump's running mate is a report I heard on the radio today. It isn't something I would ever make up. I believe that Rump will make a mealy mouth VP choice, like our own spine of oatmeal senator from up here in Maine, Susan Collins...YUCK!
I'm sure that regardless of who is the #2 on the Republican/teabagger ticket, there will be celebration in the Clinton family when Rump's convention adjourns!
PEACE!

(3,166 posts)come on now, and you think Bernie did anything different than Hillary in 2008 I don't want to get in a tit for tat because it is time for closure and coming together for the general
MarianJack
(10,237 posts)...you might have noticed that I never said that I thought that Sanders WOULD be Rump's VP.
I DID say, in both the OP and my first response to you, and now again here, that I heard it on the radio this morning!
Reading is fundamental.
gabeana
(3,166 posts)here is your quote
Hopefully, Sanders has too much integrity for THAT...ooops, never mind!
so you are saying Sanders has to much integrity then never mind meaning you think he would consider it
or you're saying he would never take it? and actually just to let you in on a little secret I was not responding to you initially I was responding to leftofcool
MarianJack
(10,237 posts)The remark about Sanders' integrity is referencing the fact that since March, he has run exactly the sort of campaign that he said he wouldn't run, has been collecting Pinnocchios like they were Beanie Babies, become the master of the cheap stunt (like the Vatican fiasco) and has been claiming endorsements he didn't get, advisors who never even met him and campaign workers who are willing to steal an opponent's data.
None of this denotes a great deal of integrity to me, hence the "ooops, never mind" remark.
gabeana
(3,166 posts)because you know Bernie supporters can easily counter everything you said about be nasty and Pinocchio but again Hillary won so be happy now we must come together and defeat the GOP
put your scorn somewhere else not to the people that need to support Hilary in the fall
I can bring a lot of stuff up but I wont because it is time to focus on the general
MarianJack
(10,237 posts)...please relate to me ONE negative attack against Sanders that Hillary Clinton has said. That's Hillary, not her staff nor supporters like me.
On the other hand, don't. I'm LONG past being bored with you.

(8,133 posts)I think he is hurting the Democratic Party and Hillary by staying in. I never thought he would do something like that (liked him before he got so aggressive) and I am disappointed in him. I don't want to see another Nader-type situation with him being the spoiler.

(21,784 posts). . .if Hillary wins the nomination, she offers the VPOTUS to Bernie.
Well, hell, this has happened before; JFK tapping Lyndon Johnson in 1960 and Reagan choosing George HW Bush in 1980.

(19,460 posts)Hillary does not want Bernie as her VP period. The Democratic Party would never allow this.

(6,444 posts)The same problems he would have as a General candidate! He would be vetted! He'd be a weak person to be in line to be Prez if something happened to the President.

(21,784 posts)But have no fear for me: I'm voting Democratic Blue no matter who the ticket is come November.

(4,640 posts)It would be stupid to put in place a VP candidate who tears down her, AND the party which supports her.

(11,619 posts)If he lost and tried to return to the Democratic Caucus, where he wields considerable power, he would be told to take a hike.
What real policy initiative would Trump give him?
I don't think he would do that. I think running an avowed "socialist" as a running mate would lead to defections of a solid chunk of what Republican party is left.

(4,035 posts)It's what will scuttle a potential third party run with Jill Stein, too. Neither of them are willing to sacrifice the top billing.

(27,806 posts)I remember back in 2008, I thought that if Hillary were nominated, she'd definitely nominate Obama for Veep, but that if he were nominated, he would never choose her. I was, sadly, proved right on that. Both of them, though, could have gracefully accepted the role and campaigned heartily for the ticket.
The Donald and the Bern? No way. Couldn't fit both those heads on a stage, and their angry white supporters likewise couldn't be in the same room.

(10,476 posts)which is now being used for ammo by some Sanders supporters. Whatever Sanders faults may be, he's a zillion miles above Trump, and there's no way in hell he's ever team up with that bigoted, misogynist, orange-faced asshat.
C"mon, let's be better than this.
