Showdown on Morning Joe: Rob Reiner Rips Into Joe and Mika For Letting Trump Off The Hook

We’ve all watched Donald Trump tap dance his way around attempts to pin him down on policy details, or give a blank stare when asked about his support from white supremacists. “Why don’t they make him answer the question?” is the frustrated viewer’s response.

As it turns out, Hollywood powerhouse Rob Reiner, who has been politically active for decades, shares our frustration. He let loose on Morning Joe, and Mika and Joe were on the defensive:

When journalists interview Hillary, they are frequently hostile and openly challenge what she says as false (even though we know she’s the most honest candidate). But that’s not the only problem. Let’s contrast this with the major boost Donald Trump gets from his false claim (frequently used as an attack on Hillary) that he opposed the Iraq war. He didn’t. Yet Media Matters has documented at least 16 times Trump has made the claim during interviews and went unchallenged.

At one point, I remember in a previous Morning Joe, it was picked up on a hot pic Trump saying to Joe and Mika, "No tough question ok" and Joe and Mika agreed.

3. One of the problems is...

Mika and Joe exist to validate the candidacy of Trump. They have no interest in vetting him.

Which is why they do the same for Sanders (their preferred opposition to Trump) and why they despise Hillary - the one who will beat Trump.

NBC and offspring have one goal - "The Presidential Apprentice Show." He is their creation, you know.

auditioning of Joe and Mika for FAUX has been too much, left them and am happy on New Day. Did enjoy the link to Reiner holding his ground with those two, sometimes they are brutal to their guest, especially loud mouth Joe.

Go Rob Reiner! Mika and Joe acted so shocked when Rob said there's a strain of racism in this country. FFS, are they seriously going to deny that?! I've noticed that neither of them can take criticism at all. They were both so offended when he was telling them how to interview Trump.

Why have him on repeatedly when you claim he just talks in circles? That gets back to Reiner's original point - it's all about ratings, not about informing the public.
