Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumSanders leaves door open to being Clinton's VP
Washington (CNN) Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders said Friday he plans to keep fighting for the Democratic nomination all the way to the convention in Philadelphia, but did not slam the door shut on possibly joining Hillary Clinton's ticket.
Asked by CNN's Wolf Blitzer if he would accept a hypothetical offer to be Clinton's running mate, Sanders said he would talk about it with her after the convention.
"Right now, we are focused on the next five weeks of winning the Democratic nomination. If that does not happen, we are going to fight as hard as we can on the floor of the Democratic convention to make sure that we have a progressive platform that the American people will support," Sanders said on "The Situation Room." "Then, after that, certainly Secretary Clinton and I can talk and see where we go from there."
It is impossible for Sanders to win enough pledged delegates in the remaining contests to secure the Democratic nomination, but it remains possible, if unlikely, that Clinton might not win the 2,383 delegates needed for the nomination either, which would set up a potential convention battle in Philadelphia.

At this point, I figure I've got a much better shot at the job than Bernie does.

(27,814 posts)... on the Chances of Being Hillary's VP list, Bernie is somewhere around 3,471,296 - on a good day.
But when one uses BernieMath, that translates to being #1 With a Bullet.

(11,581 posts)He is promising trouble at the convention and has said over and over that it is up to Hillary to win over his supporters, demonstrating his unwillingness to lift a finger.
I think he and Jane are well aware of the math, but want to be VP and wife.
Of course Trump might provide the opportunity--Trump is capable of anything and wants to win at any cost. One could say the exact same thing of Bernie
I think Hillary Clinton has had quite enough of dodging Bernie's pointing finger and interrupting her. Not to mention he would not be able to resist walking up to any microphone he saw to pontificate--probably blowing things that were meant to be kept under wraps in the process. She would have to lock him in a closet in the White House if she picked him--not going to happen.

Hillary will want someone brilliant for our Country who will be in a good place to be POTUS after their 8 years in Office.

(50,557 posts)Were I in Hillary's pumps I would tell None Such that not only would he not be my running mate, I would personally see to it he was defeated in the primaries for his senate seat. Make him my running mate after all the shit he flung? The odds of there being broiled dodo on my dinner table this Sunday are higher.
Hillary, however, will simply tell him no and walk away.

We can all monitor him better if he is safely esconded away! Vermont doesn't mind. Let them have him! He is their problem. Maybe they'll want to see his taxes this time around.

(2,792 posts)... he may be suffering from mental illness.
At this point, there appear to be symptoms of mixed delusional disorder.
http://www.webmd.com/schizophrenia/guide/delusional-disorder
He seems to have lost touch with reality and needs to seek professional help. Unfortunately, most people who have this condition fail to seek help, because they lack insight into the nature of their illness.
He may simply be dishonest and not mentally ill.

But I believe that HRC can work with anyone! Totally believe in her people/diplomatic skills! So I'll accept anyone she picks not b/c of them but b/c of HER! Also I trust her judgment and intelligence; she'll know who to pick!

(9,688 posts)Quite apart from the fact that it would be completely inappropriate for just the reasons you mentioned,
I can't see this as a working partnership at any point - not as running mates, not in the White House. It just wouldn't work. At all.
Plus if, God forbid, he were required to step into the presidency, he would be an absolute disaster as president. Again, even apart from policy issues, he just would be a terrible executive. Plus I wouldn't want Jane Sanders (for whom I have growing antipathy) anywhere close to a policy role in the next administration.
The next VP has to be someone who is genuinely qualified to be president.
I never want to see JS again!
