Have you gotten the feeling Sanders' plan isn't actually meant to help the lower classes?

Anyone with a grain of brain has to know the people who are really going to get raked by Sanders' tax structure have the financial means to get the hell out of the United States, and this may be his ultimate goal.

I think his plan is intended to help the disadvantaged. The rich always take care of themselves so that leaves the middle class holding the bag.

5. His plan is going to hurt the disadvantaged by taxing the life out of them

Under the Sanders plan we are ALL going to pay more taxes - a lot more. You can argue that the Sanders plan provides good value for money, and it might...but it will cost a vast amount of money. And the Sanders plan is underfunded by a huge amount...not even calculating in the increased usage of the healthcare system that'll happen when the not-quite-poor (the ones who can afford to buy insurance but not to use it) decide they should really get that black lump between their shoulder blades looked at.

9. Yep. Sanders' plans will either add $21-trillion to the debt over 10 years

just to pay for his healthcare plans, OR the Average Joe is going to be paying 42-50% of their income in taxes.

That's the reality, the price tag for his "free" stuff.

10. There's a third option that's equally bad

Because the Very Rich are going to haul ass to countries with lower taxes, Sanders' plans will add trillions to the debt AND the Average Joe is going to get the life taxed out of him.

he's just ignoring the fact that the 1% have lawyers, etc which allow them to not pay their share so the burden is pushed further down the economic ladder.

that his plan is not feasible and probably never will be
in a country as large and diverse as ours.

Too many regional differences in everything from basic social values to local
economics to population density.

Bernie is from very small very liberal very non diverse state.
In a state like Vermont a 1 size fits all solution will mostly work.

I don't think Bernie really cares one way or another.

To quote my late Grandmother
"He's talking just to hear his damn head rattle"

And now he's got the Bernie faithful cheering him on at the designated spots in the speech.

7. His tax plan seemed lopsided to me.

I can't afford his tax bill for my income--and the promises that I will save umpteen thousand dollars in exchange makes no sense, since I'm on my husband's work health plan.

Even when I was on covered ca, it only cost me about 5k, which was stiff, but still under what the Sanders plan would cost.

I believe in a national health care plan, but we need something that will be stepped in, so the lower earners aren't hit too hard.

8. The deluxeness of it worries me

He wants:

no deductibles
no copays
medical, dental, vision and prescriptions covered

...and for it to be totally illegal for anyone to accept private pay or non-Sanderscare health insurance for anything covered by Sanderscare.

The last one will kill the program entirely: Telling a doctor he can't perform services that are covered by Sanderscare and take payment outside the Sanderscare system runs into 14th Amendment territory.

12. IMHO Bernie has an excellent chance of helping the lower classes and pass all his programs.

He only needs to have the socialist 51% of congress vote it all in. Hmm, maybe a bit sketchy on that.
