Full Disclosure - I am a longtime Hillary fan (HRC Group)

I was born in Arkansas and lived there most of my life. I admired and liked Hillary Clinton from the moment I became politically aware. She was different from any of the Arkansas woman I had known my whole life. She was outspoken, smart, not afraid to state her opinion. Not everyone in Arkansas was quite as enamored of her, but as a young wife and mother, I found her very inspirational.

One of my most memorable recollections was when she showed up at a press conference in the capitol rotunda and took Bill McRae to task. The press had a field day because "how dare she?", and "this is a woman who doesn't know her place!" I thought she was brilliant then and nothing has changed that opinion. For me, as a young mother in Arkansas, held back by archaic ideals about what a woman could be, I decided early on that HRC was a role model and I hoped that some day she would be president. I am thrilled beyond measure that it's going to happen for her and for us.

Here's an article from The Chicago Tribune in 1992, which accurately portrays the feelings and optimism that many of us, especially women, felt during that time.

I am proud to say that as a man (Gay as I am) that it is long overdue for women in all aspects of life to have a bigger say in what happens in our society.

Hillary is about to break that glass ceiling letting women know there is nothing they can't do. I just wished it had happened sooner in my lifetime & maybe just maybe our world wouldn't be as screwed up as it is today.

To womanhood!

President Obama has broken the glass ceiling for African Americans which has also been a great achievement in our society.

There is yet still hope for America.

not all that many years ago. Hillary was a trail blazer and she had to put up with such ****! I am a few years younger than Hillary, but I remember, as a young woman, being so perplexed as I watched Hillary being severely criticized for having the "nerve" to say that she wasn't just going to stay home and bake cookies.(I had just started my career and I certainly wasn't at home baking cookies.) I was not as politically connected as I am now and I remember trying to figure out what the heck Hillary had said that was so terrible! We've come a long way since those days, but we definitely still have work to do for women to be treated equally and fairly...and not just in the political arena. Hillary is my hero! Here's to breaking that glass ceiling! Hillary 2016!
