#2. While I wouldn't begrudge a Sanders supporter the use of an online website as a shadchan, it seems sort of sad to limit your pool of prospective mates to such an extent. It seems weirdly orthodox and conservative.

This is not a new idea. There are singles sites that bring together people based on religious groups or political preferences, why not Sanders supporters?

From Distractify.com: "The website grew out from their Facebook page, which was set up as an alternative to the Bernie Sanders Dank Meme Stash page. Joshua Kaunert, Bernie Singles' press liaison, emailed Distractify, explaining that Beth Hannah was the person that started the Bernie Sanders Dank Meme Singles page.

After having added about 500 members to the singles group (and several successful pairings), some members began discussing setting up a “real” dating site. Colton Caudle (now CTO of BernieSingles) put together a website and uploaded it to another member’s server.

Once the site went live, it went viral on reddit, Twitter and Facebook very rapidly. We added over 1,000 members and handled 1,000,000 hits before the server crashed. Reality hit us at this point, and our group of all volunteer devs set about to release a more stable site, which we are expecting to go live tonight at 8PM EST. Everything was completely bootstrapped on less than $200.

They haven't reached out Bernie Sanders for an endorsement, but it's only a matter of time.
