How to defeat Trump

I consider that it is time to get on with this task.
Thus, time for thinking about the GE.
And, to start to discuss tactics and strategy.

How do you defeat Trump?
Warren has started the task. Clinton should remain somewhat above it.
First, attack points of vulnerability.

So we attack him thru all his failures....all the personal lives he destroyed to further his businesses....the use of eminent domain to steal people's homes....this the path to destroy trump in the eyes of the 10% who control election outcomes...

Anyone notice that when he is asked about it, the tenor of his voice changes? There is major stress in his voice. That means Dems need to keep hammering him on it.

Remember how Sarah Palin initially gave McCain a big bump, after he picked her for his VP? But then the debates and interviews started, and she revealed what an ultimate moron she is. People freaked out about having her a heartbeat away from the presidency.

I think the same thing will happen with Trump. He could get away with his childhood antics during the Republican primaries/debates (because they're an immature lot), but the general is a different ballgame. Hillary will be his opponent and she will be more than prepared to face him. The woman is smart and knows her stuff and does her homework. Trump has tried to wing it, but that won't save him in the fall. Furthermore, Hillary won't stoop to his level, like Cruz and Rubio and the other Republican candidates. Also, Hillary withstood 11 hours of questioning last October by a Republican-led Benghazi committee. The stamina that woman must have! Meanwhile, Trump gets butthurt if someone dare criticize his hands, for example. He'll try to get Hillary's goat, no doubt, but she'll remain unfazed. I think that will tick him off. Nothing bothers a bully more than the object of his ridicule not being bothered.

Incidentally, I think he would've easily gotten under Sanders' skin. Sanders has a short fuse.

I agree. I think the debates will be a huge weak spot for him (well, obviously, look who he'll be debating )

The only way he can attack her is with low blows and fake rumors, since there's no substance to him. And I keep reminding myself that, unlike the Republican primary electorate, the American electorate at large is far less likely to approve of his disgusting shenanigans.

Remember Rick Lazio and how he tried to go after her during a debate in 2000? At one point, he approached Hillary's podium, demanding that she sign some papers. Many viewers/voters took issue with him invading Hillary's personal space and trying to throw his weight around. It came across as bullying, like a man trying to keep a woman in her place. Needless to say, he lost the female vote and ultimately the election for NY Senator. And he was tame compared to Trump.

That was what I was getting at when I said that she had to stay somewhat above the fray.
In a sense, let him hang himself.

I am not sure that Sanders can come close to doing that.

.... how to say the name "Donald Trump" with the lilt and inflection that Pres. Obama uses when saying the name, ie, the press dinners. The way he says "Trump" is funny and belittling in itself.

HRC will be poised, informed, and speak intelligently about a wide array of subjects. She will be presidential. Trump may try to be less asinine than in the GOP debates but he still can't speak coherently on most subjects and will sound like a complete idiot, I'm sure, on foreign policy questions, in particular. Bottom line. Democrats, intelligent independents and open minded republicans will rally to her banner.

Moderate GOP who do not want to vote for Clinton should have room to vote for Clinton.
That has to be subtle though.

I think that the anti Clinton votes on the "left" have to counterbalanced.

will be to pick off Cruz, Rubio and Jeb! voters. A lot of them are the 30% or so of Latinos who voted R last time.

Fortunately, Trump has done a great job of alienating them and could end up with less than 10% of the Hispanic vote. Coupled with record increases in new Latino voters, I think we are in great shape for the general.

Negotiating the debt???
Printing money to solve the debt???

A lot of people are seeing Trump's business experience as an economic advantage. However, if his statements indicate that he has goofy economic plans, then there goes than advantage.
