HRC GROUP: I won't name-names or link to specific threads or replies ...

... but I would like to ask my fellow Hillary supporters if they have also noticed a slight uptick in cleverly worded posts that attempt to connect and compare the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago with the upcoming 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.

There have been things like: Predictions of "millions" of Bernie voters "descending on" the convention. Photos of the the 1968 violence. Links to Philadelphia-bound "ride-share" sites. Call-to-action posts about "occupying" Philadelphia.

I know they think they're being subtle enough to fly under DU's radar, but it's pretty clear to me what some are suggesting, or advocating, or hoping for.

Of course these are my own personal opinions based on my personal observations. It's entirely possible that I'm wrong, and I'm aware that other people may have opinions that differ from mine.

But I'm wondering if I'm the only one who's noticed, and if I'm not the only one ... what are your reactions? What do you make of it all?

Most of these youngsters weren't even alive back them. I think they are all upset because the Berner campaign was warned about disruptions and he is running out of money to compete.

young mostly white, mostly male progressives protesting the nomination of the first female major party candidate, elected overwhelmingly by the people and people of color, in a predominately black city. The photos alone will doom the progressive movement and Sanders' revolution for years.

Young men in those days subject to a draft to fight an unpopular war. In addition Hubert Humphrey was the nominee in spite of never winning a primary.

President. Also those wanting to change the Democratic Party, I have been happy with the Democratic Party for years, think I will be happy in the future, we don't need changing.

Just another false equivalency (the draft being a huge part of what was going on in 1968).

I have so much I could say on this I'm frankly stymied as even knowing where to begin. I'm really glad you brought this up, though.

It won't be like 1968 because back then there were artists, and people who really did live in communes, and people who played music on the street, and people who lived hand to mouth with their friends, and a whole boatload of people who were freaking scared of the draft and of people like J. Edgar Hoover and Mayor Daley.

The "revolutionaries" today can certainly wreak their own kind of damage, but they are, at core, very different people, I think.

It's been going on for a while now, pretty much since Super Tuesday. Certainly since the math started looking difficult for Bernie.

Clearly, they know nothing about 1968 if they think it's comparable. Some of the ones I've seen have tried to make the connection.

How'd that work out for them? Besides, how would any of them afford the trip, having been sucked dry $27 at a time by the campaign itself?

Multiply that by twenty, and that's your angry mob - ready to smack any corporatist turd-wayer with a spent-grain baguette.

It'll be just like Chicago, 1968 - two days after the convention, and with lots of flannel.

...though how they can compare her with the candidate that didn't even run in the primaries is astounding.

Edit: I would suggest any that are attending, that do not wish to incite violence, film everything so that if something does go down there are no 'out of context' clips.
