I find it extremely funny...

And not funny in the good way, that people who can hear the dog whistles and can see the racism when it comes to our first black president - people who rightly call out all of the ways this president faces hurdles and tests and criticisms that white politicians do not face -- people who rightly see double standards and call it out for the racism it is - people who "get it" just cannot fathom that Secretary Clinton faces a constant barrage of sexism.

We've been told constantly for 8 years that the vitriol towards Obama has nothing to do with his race - they are not racist, dammit! And we rightly see right through them and their lies (to themselves, mostly.)

These self-same people just cannot see the blatant sexism that Secretary Clinton faces.

Funny, just not the HaHaHa kind of funny, isn't it?

I am sure there are plenty of Bigots and Sexists that are aware of their own Bigotry and Sexism. They just seem like block heads to you and I!

Probably because there often isn't one.

The speech transcripts are a perfect example. To my knowledge, she's the first major candidate from either party who's ever been "urged" to release transcripts from speeches given as a private citizen.

What's the only difference between Clinton and the vast majority of all major candidates in presidential history?

The dopes: Duh, she's a woman?

Ok, what else?

The dopes: Um. I don't know.

Ok, that's sexism then, right?

The dopes: No, because...Clinton is a corporatist!

Sorry, but no.

To make it even worse, the people who refuse to recognize the sexism against HRC are often the same people who turn around and believe in tinfoil conspiracies and coverups.

WHAT

How does that make any sense at all??

8. Thing is, though, that many posters who seem to be unaware that things they have said are racist

are the same posters who don't seem to be aware that they are raging sexists. There is a lot of overlap among them.

Though I agree that there are many who are perfectly aware of the racism against President Obama but don't see any sexism against Hillary.

9. Not to mention, too many of them claim that it isn't that she's a woman,

but that she's *that* woman. They'd vote for Elizabeth Warren, they say, completely disregarding not only Warren's stated boundary of not running for President, but also the harassment they heaped on her when she refused to endorse Bernie. The only reason they aren't treating Elizabeth Warren as vilely as they do Hillary Clinton is because Warren isn't running for President. If she was....

Links to an article by a RW climate change denier who criticizes Hill as ambitious. The usual posters insist there is no sexism in such a criticism but that we are sexist for saying that.

It's like freaking upside down world.

I try to stick to the HC group but every once in awhile I see something so outrageously dumb in GD/P that I have to comment, then I immediately regret it.

"get" it, as do majorities in other minority groups.

Those who absolutely refuse to see the full-blown sexism towards Hillary in 2016 are overwhelmingly white and comprise both men and women, although the majority are male.

There was a perceptive comment in one of my OP threads recently saying that one theory of why Hillary won several races against Barack Obama in 2008 was because whites preferred to vote for a white woman over a black man (i.e., racism). But now many of those same voters will not vote for a white women over a white man (i.e., sexism). There is a clear link between racism and sexism.

What is frustrating is that Hillary is head and shoulders above Bernie in intelligence, experience, education, actual accomplishments and everything else one could possibly think of. And still those voters insist that they're not sexist - they'll vote for a women, just not "this" woman - even when at least some of them voted for her before.
