Can Tim Kaine be Hillary Clinton's attack dog?

Can Tim Kaine be Hillary Clinton's attack dog?
Democrats worry he lacks the bite to take on the ultimate alpha male: Donald J. Trump.
By EDWARD-ISAAC DOVERE 05/17/16 09:00 PM EDT

To many — in the White House, in and around Hillary Clinton’s orbit, and among top Democrats — the question of “Could Tim Kaine be a good vice president?” is settled. It's how the Virginia senator would do as an attack-dog running mate that’s still in question.

And when the opposition is a bully bomb-throwing genius who seems ready to say just about anything, when people worry that Bill Clinton will spend the campaign bouncing off the walls complaining that they're not hitting back enough, that has top Democratic operatives nervous.

The Virginia senator has been on every speculative vice-presidential short list for years.

2. I've come to the conclusion that the only way to unite this party (thanks to Sanders)

is to have somebody like Elizabeth Warren on the ticket who would appeal to young people and Sanders leaning independents and is still a loyal democrat. I just don't think the party would get excited about a moderate white male. Sorry to say.

3. I prefer Sherrod Brown to Kaine.

I don't really trust that Kaine would not stab Hillary in the back.
Brown has all the right progressive positions and he is likable, civil, intelligent and a good Democrat.

There is virtually nothing bad that the real progressives could say about him. It would cost us a Senate seat but hopefully we could make it up with some of these hotly contested seats up for re-election by the GOP.

It would really piss Bernie off to have Brown be the VP nominee because Brown is a true progressive Dem and not a fake "socialist" Dem. Brown could remove Sanders from our collective memories fast.

and Kaine (as DNC chair) was the keynote speaker. Boring, no energy. I don't think he'd be a good choice.

5. I am a Clinton supporter due to the primary choices I had remaining. But to vote for her AND Kaine?

I don't know if I could control the gag reflex long enough to do it.
