Trump,HRC both fewer than 100 delegates shy of securing nominations; both likely to seal deal 6/7th

Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton both fewer than 100 delegates shy of securing nominations;
both are likely to seal the deal on June 7

In the Democratic race, despite a near-tie in the Kentucky primary and a loss in the Oregon primary Tuesday night, Clinton is now only about 92 delegates short of the 2,383 she needs to formally secure the nomination. ...She now has 2,291 delegates.

The former secretary of state is likely to reach her magic number on June 7, when a huge slate of primaries (in California, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico and the Dakotas) will put up for grabs more than 800 delegates.

Even if Clinton were to lose every remaining contest, she will still get to the mark, because the delegates are all allocated proportionally, based on each election’s results.

In the Republican race, meanwhile, Trump, whose victory in the GOP’s Oregon primary Tuesday awarded him 17 delegates, now has 1,160 total delegates, the AP’s most recent count showed, meaning he is only 77 shy of the 1,237 he needs to formally secure the nomination.

The outspoken mogul will almost definitely reach that milestone on June 7, when GOP voters in California, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico and South Dakota head to the polls, putting up for grabs about 300 delegates — most of which Trump is likely to win.

When I say the actions of the extreme left wing gave Nixon the election. I don't know if you and others haven't seen the WTO protests over the past several years but what is coming to philly will be 100x that..SANDERS has inflamed a mob and thousands will descend into philly to create chaos....don't fool yourself

Our servicemen and women were still dying in Nam at the rate of 300 a week, and it had become LBJ's war. American society was sharply fractured as the hippy culture reached its apex, and the establishment saw threats behind every flower petal.

It was a very, very volatile time in this country. People were ready for a change, even if that change was Nixon.

Compare it to today and there's no comparison. Americans live in relative health, safety and prosperity. The only reason that the electorate is "angry" is because the media picked up on RW spin that was meant to discredit and delegitimize that black guy who was elected president in 2008. That RW meme has been successfully picked up by the left, who never seem to be happy with maintaining the power they have, and who like lemmings want to join in any whining party being thrown by the Rs.

We are not at war, the stock market has been soaring for years, unemployment is at historical lows, 90% of Americans now have some form of health insurance, LGBT rights are the law of the land and becoming the law in the few places that remain to be broken down, a woman and an openly socialist candidate have been vying for the Dem Party nomination, OBL is dead and ISIS is on the run: and yet, Democrats across the country are as angry as Rs?

What in the hell for? For all the great PROGRESSIVE gains that have been made under Obama? What is it, besides Bernie Sanders screaming that the system is rigged and that both parties are evil incarnate? I'd really like to know, because at age 61, things are pretty damn good these days, despite that fact that we still have work to do on equal rights an justice for all.

the democratic nominee. I think those of us who watched it happen way back then (oh, how young we were! ) understand the danger more so than people aren't old enough to remember. I don't mean to dismiss those who say this will all work out and nothing would make me happier than to be wrong about this.
