This is how the Dem primary is supposed to function.

A thought occurred to me as I was reading a separate comment by Omaha Steve about the 1992 primary. OS points out that Bill Clinton did not "win" the primary until June 92.

Same with Obama in 2008. And now Hillary Clinton again in 2016.

Who are the recent Democratic candidates who had the nomination "locked up" according to the supposed schedule that Hillary's detractors say she is missing? Gore? Kerry? They clinched their nominations in March because all of their opponents had dropped out. Not to mention that the primary calendars were different during their two campaigns. For example, Kerry's Super Tuesday included both NY and CA, much earlier in the calendar than this year.

The fact that Hillary's campaign more closely resembles those of the last two Democrats to win the White House than it does those of the last two to lose it is, IMO, very re-assuring.

HRC 2016.

when that's patently FALSE. She's winning by a bigger margin than Obama had over her. She's winning by a larger margin than Trump did. She has, for all intents and purposes, "clinched" the nomination. Maybe they can't accept the fact that a woman's winning, but they'd better get used to it because it's happening anyway!
