Sanders is apparently considering seeking a recount in Kentucky.
I just read it here:

Does he understand that each state is proportional and "wins" are merely symbolic?

(3,284 posts)He really can't let go of the idea that he's been "cheated". What would a recount in his favor get him? Is he REALLY so hung up on one delegate when that would be a drop in the bucket of what he needs to overcome Clinton's lead? It's just bizarre.

(15,696 posts)It's easy to call for a recount, but it's hard for the people who have to pay for it ever to forget that you insisted on it out of spite.

(2,039 posts)It would change the delegate count.
Just more proof showing that he doesn't mind wasting other people's money.

(23,569 posts)To accomplish what? So he can say he won one more state? Get maybe 1 more delegate? I have absolutely no more respect left for this man. He is a quarrelsome, vindictive old man. He is ruining his own reputation for what? He will go down as another has been and have nothing to show for his antagonist whining.

(587 posts)TYT have made a business out of making content for BS'ers and telling them what they want to hear. The main stream media is too crowded and TYT's content is too stupid to get any viewers there, but they have changed their format and content to appeal to a fringe group where they have a large percentage of the market share within that group.
Sanders is the same. He doesn't get traction with main stream voters because they don't like his ridiculous claims and promises and they want more substance and an ability to actually get things done - things that Sanders does not offer. But he has also found a willing customer base - ill informed voters who are angry and lap up his claims that "corporations" and "the main stream media" and "the democratic party" and "the establishment" are all out to get them.
This is a man who had an utterly forgettable history in politics. He didn't create any legislation. He wasn't in charge of anything important. He didn't lead on anything. He was a wallflower. A non-factor in American politics.
Then he realizes that many Americans are angry at wall street and income inequality and "corporations", and he finds that by standing in front of people and railing against these things, he gets support.
This is a man who never was listened to his entire life. He never mattered. He never succeeded. And all of a sudden, people are sending him millions of dollars and cheering when he gets up on stage. So he keeps doing what he's doing. That's the reason his stump speech has been the same from the start. And the reason that whenever he is asked anything off-message, he just replies that it's an important issue to him and he will fix it. And the reason he panders to whatever audience is in front of him and promises them whatever he thinks they want.
And that is the reason he won't go away quietly. This man has never mattered, never been important, never been consulted for his opinion or his help. He's been the awkward kid in the back of the class without any friends. And he's going to cling to his new found fame with a death grip until he has absolutely no other option.

(25,423 posts)Funny how TYT took a bunch of "former" GOP money to spend most of their time complaining about money's influence in politics.
I agree with you on Sanders. The sad thing is that I really used to like the guy and have supported him for a long time, but the primaries have exposed him for what he always really was, a professional politician who could afford to take the stances he took because he represented a state where they were never going to call his bluff.
I also agree that he's going to hang on to his newfound fame as long as he possibly can. I don't think he ever planned on being around this long and the surprise "success" must now be milked to death, consequences be damned.

Forcing a recount is completely destructive and serves no useful purpose for Sanders.

(15,438 posts)faux-champion of the working man needs to put money where his big mouth is and offer the State of KY to pay for the recount so as not to burden the Kentucky taxpayers. If he refuses to pay for the recount, he once again shows his true colors that he's as fake of a champion for the working man as Dishonest-Donald.
