Bernie and His Millennials
When I hear Bernie and the simplistic declarations of his own hate, I understand exactly why he is attractive to this group. He demands no intelligent analysis. He demands no convoluted thought. Rather than call on them to do the hard work of change, Bernie tells them to DEMAND it. He offers them repetition the same lines without variance. We in education know how this works. Repeat the same thing six times, and voila, a connection.
Bernie projects his own victimhood onto these minds, and it dovetails with their disgruntlement, their demand for reparations, their need for entitled status. When he says the process is corrupt, they cheer. Of course, it is corrupt, they think, recalling the professor who flunked them for plagiarism; the employer who fired them for insubordination; the mother who kicked them out of the house; the girlfriend who left them, the bully who punched them in second grade.
Bernie doesnt ask that they discriminate. No, he promotes hatred as a mantra and a Demand as the answer. So it is no surprise that the Bernies threw a fit in Nevada. The corrupt system is the Democratic party itself. And again, they are the victims. Their demands were met with failure. So they screamed vulgarities, jumped up and down, swung chairs in the air, stampeded the dais. Now Nazi is replaced with cunt. Now disturbing a classroom elevates into death threats.
Please read the entire article including the comments. It is all too familiar.

(12,264 posts)This is a very sad and pathetic post. We are far smarter than you give us credit for. This is my first time responding to this garbage so I will just leave it at this. Sad and pathetic. I would suggest warming up to truth. It is good for the soul.

(24,780 posts)Anything significant in his career. Sitting on asses and demanding rather than doing the heavy lifting needed to create change is not only lazy but a lot like a 2 year old demanding. Change never happens with one election. Where was Bernie in 2010 when the GOP won the redistricting election? He's no leader.
You want TRUTH? You've got the truth Bernie won't give you.
Brava/ Bravo.
You just nailed it! Thanks Gman.

(32,596 posts)her cabinet I had to laugh. She is a policy wonk and expects everyone who works with/for her to know their stuff and work as hard as she does. BS is lazy and not that smart so the only job he could qualify for if working for her would be doorman... and I am not sure about. grooming and all

(25,133 posts)was a good idea. The more I found out about him, the more he spoke: NO WAY. Huge gaps in knowledge. I think he likes to talk more than listen. I had no idea he was so anti-intellectual. Now this "lesser of two evils" comment ... And yet it's Clinton that can't say anything without it being twisted and Biden who was supposedly a walking gaffe machine.

One opinion goes up against another. They cancel each other out.
Some might say that your post is apologetic and dismissive of bullying aggression and threatening behavior.

(51,377 posts)The whole "demand" attitude really nails it.
That is definitely their mantra: Forget working hard and compromising to get things done...just demand it!

(4,640 posts)You know, Bernie and his cultish followers remind me of nothing more than 2 and 3 year olds throwing tantrums to get their way. When my kids were that young, and pulled that garbage I didn't give in to them. You know what worked best? Ignoring them. A time or two, to show my oldest daughter how silly she was being (she wanted a toy I couldn't afford, was one instance) I got on the floor WITH her and started kicking my feet, screaming and crying. She stopped, looked at me, and completely quieted down. Mind you, my oldest was laughing because it was so SILLY, mom doing what his sister was doing.

(10,005 posts)but lumping an entire generation together is silly. Too many people think 20-somethings are all Sanders supporters when many will not vote (like the rest of the population) and some will vote Clinton and some will vote Trump.
