In a survey conducted for the American National Election Studies in late January, supporters of Mr. Sanders...were less likely than Mrs. Clintons supporters to favor concrete policies that Mr. Sanders has offered...including a higher minimum wage, increasing government spending on health care and an expansion of government services financed by higher taxes.

(660 posts)Senator Sanders is a politician. He's been in the thick of politics for most of his life. He just needs the time and the space to work his way out of this campaign. He'll do it. Please be patient. He knows that it's coming to a screeching halt soon.

(660 posts)It was clearly a mistake and I think he seemed shocked when the interviewer pointed out what he had just said. Sanders is a pro, but this cannot be an easy time for him. Somehow, he needs to work his way out of this campaign in such a way as to preserve the sanity of some of his most ardent supporters. It's kind of a delicate matter. He needs time and space to wrap this thing up. He's a politician with decades of experience. He'll find a way.

He made this mess.. he needs to clean it up ASAP.. he's done a lot of damage with his disingenuous bullshit.

(2,897 posts)It's been clear that he wouldn't win since the end of April, but instead of charting a path out, he's been ramping up the attacks. He was closer to closing the campaign out amicably after losing NY than he is now.

(660 posts)I think he's held one public office or another for about 35 years. He's been kicking around the corridors of American political power for a long time. He's had many victories and many defeats. I trust him to figure things out. I don't want to imagine the alternative - that power has gone to his head and that he can't emotionally deal with reality. I continue to think that he's rational.
