Hillary has many, many supporters, but they are AWOL on DU/GDP...

At this point I rarely post OPs in GDP, and on occasion I toss in a reply. I'm sure that the vast majority of Hillary supporters are solid Democrats. Most people don't come to DU with a plan to be disruptive. This OP represents a long list that appear everyday with little value except as flame bait in my opinion.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1251&pid=2034478

To all the people who pushed Hillary on us even though she is less electable
I wish you wouldn't have done that.
You're to blame if Trump wins.

I posted a reply in this case:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1251&pid=2039817

At any rate, my point from the subject of this OP is that there really are more Hillary supporters in the world than we see on DU. I was a union meeting last night with several affiliated chapters - educators, service employees, and various public employees. I asked, and about 2/3rds were Hillary supporters - and almost everyone was a Democrat. There were a few Bernie supporters. No one was boorish. No chairs were thrown. The only enemy discussed was Rick Scott and the GOP. Everyone wants to see Florida replace a repub Senator with a Democrat. A big topic was ALEC. We'd love to defeat some local politicians.

Yes, there are people who are not happy with the DNC or some national strategy, but most want to organize their members and neighbors to vote Democratic. Most seemed to willingly accept that ANY Democrat would be better than ANY repub. Of course, most of that group are activists who will work to GOTV.

Several mentioned DU and similar sources, but almost everyone had given up on the internet because they had been run off. I hope that people realize that SOME of the attacks are likely orchestrated disruptions designed to do exactly that - keep Hillary supporters from working together to elect the first woman President.

Soon we will turn to the real work of getting ready for the November election - so let's hang in there until the convention. If you're not already involved, then do what you can to support local Democrats or help with the national campaign. Volunteer, donate, or talk to neighbors. It's a war out there, and I really believe there are many more Democrats and Hillary supporters than we see on DU. I know that in Florida, Hillary could win here if we fight the fight.

On Wed May 25, 2016, 06:37 AM an alert was sent on the following post:

Hillary has many, many supporters, but they are AWOL on DU/GDP...
http://www.democraticunderground.com/1107144190

REASON FOR ALERT

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

A crybaby call-out of another DUer, linking to their post as "flamebait." There are many "Solid Democrats" who are not Hillary supporters. The opinion could have been expressed in an OP without calling out someone else as an "example." That's the point of the alert...the call-out.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Wed May 25, 2016, 06:47 AM, and the Jury voted 0-7 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: It's a mild reply to an obnoxious post. That is the one which should have been hidden.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I don't care what excuse the alerter uses for "calling out" in this post, it's horse manure. I can't think of a better OP to explain what it intends to be WITHOUT calling out anyone in particular... STUPID ALERT!
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: It's a 'call-out' of threads, not a specific DU-er. And he's right: most of the posts in GDP are flamebait and add nothing to a discussion of the issues.
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Stop alert stalking Hillary supporters!
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I don't see the problem with this post, except that I don't agree with it, which is not grounds for a hide.

Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

You are not allowed to speak freely. You are not allowed to have an opinion.

The other day I wanted to apply an age old adage, but it contained the word "fool" in it. I deferred for fear it would generate an alert and a hide from a stacked jury.

Imagine that for a second. A phrase older than the USA. The word fool which goes back to olde English, Shakespeare. Me hesitant to use it on the Internet lest some fucking loser gets offended.

Full circle, you are not allowed free expression in this Internet forum because of alert stalkers

DU is NOT representative of the voters across the country. Being loud and boorish in order to push people away may make them feel important, but they are just yelling in an echo chamber.

The view from your union meeting is encouraging. We should be focused on defeating our common enemy, republicans, not each other. I hope that after June we can do just that.

I trashed DUP a long time ago, and I only go in when I have jury duty or a link to a post such as yours in this OP. I really appreciate and admire those who are willing to stand up to the bullies, but I personally can't do it. It brings out emotions that I don't want to live with.

the OP you reference is from one of the most obviously inflammatory posters in that forum.

People whose main effort is to trash Clinton are not Democrats NOR Lefties.

And the few Sanders supporters I meet in this very liberal area are all voting Hillary.

I think the phenomenon we witness here is mostly disruption for one reason or other.

It's just too anomalous to have so many obnoxious, crap-stirring Hillary-hating Sanders supporters on DU and so few in real life.

I can hardly do a Google search for Hillary without being buried under ugly, biased headlines and hate-filled, incendiary comments that reek of misogyny. It's IN-SANE. I've started tweeting back my indignation to said "news" sources, knowing full well it's like shouting into the wind. So depressing. And then there are the comment clowns: between those supporting Trump, those who will keep singing Bernie's praises come hell or high water, and those who just DETEST Hillary for whatever foolish, pathetic reason they have, the lucid population of the US seems to have shrunk to about the size of this group for me (I live abroad - the internet is the only way I stay connected with American politics).

And yet, Hillary's delegate count keeps climbing, which is encouraging. One day maybe the internet will come to its senses and cut her a break (but I'm not holding my breath!!!).
