Why do some people think the general election will be a cakewalk for Trump?

Just because he swept the Republican primary? The GE is an entirely different process and demographics. In order to win a presidency, a candidate needs moderates and cross-overs, as well as minorities (blacks, Hispanics, women), and I just don't see Trump having any luck with that. His right wing base will stay solid, but I don't see him attracting anyone from the center or across the aisle. Just like lack of minority support did Sanders in, I think the same will happen with Trump. His ardent followers claim that the pundits got it all wrong when they claimed early on that Trump didn't have a shot at the nomination, but once again, different process, different demographics.

primaries in dozens of states and who is unrivaled in ruthlessness also believe she'd roll over and beg for mercy at Trump's first invocation of the Clenis and would have no clue how to run against a Republican.

It really has nothing to do with polls or head-to-heads or electoral votes or anything reasonable to consider.

They really think she's going to be indicted and will have to withdraw.

Everyone has forgotten about the stinking pile that is Trump and his issues. He throws drumpf into the air to change the subject about himself. I still feel more will come out about him once the squabbles stop in the Democrat primary.

Hillary's campaign is going to be much better run and focused against him than the pukes were in the primary. I haven't seen too many suggestions it will be a cakewalk for Trump.

Who are saying that the GE will be a cakewalk for him. I've seen it on DU, YouTube, and the comments section of articles. The pundits and analysts not so much.

aren't as enamored with "build the wall and have Mexico pay for it" Trump as they are. They totally forget to mention that the GOP needs 40%+ of the Latino vote in order to win any national contests. Mitt Romney only got 27% - and he wasn't anti-Latino per se. Twisted-Trump, however, is very anti-Latino, just like Trump-cultists.

I'll be surprised if he wins 20% (the total of the older, staunch Republican Cuban-American votes). Without the Latino vote, there's NO WAY Twisted-Trump will become president.

and he can bully everyone out!

and when he pivots - all it takes is a few words like "I like Latinos!" and there go the Latinos, following Trump with glazed eyes because being on Trump's trip is just gonna be so FUN! Trump says "Trust me" and we just TRUST HIM!

Trump has a Hard-ON for us and we just cannot help ourselves! We just go for that stuff!

He is able to find code words that his opponents cannot shake off: Little Marco, Crooked Hillary! etc. etc.

Trump is just very very good at making himself a must-see!

People eat JUNK FOOD watch JUNK TV and here is their JUNK PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE!
