How do we combat Trump?

Mrs. Clinton is pressing ahead with a conventional campaign, echoing the 2012 themes used against the Republican nominee that year, Mitt Romney. But Mr. Trump is running a jarringly different crusade: accusing her husband, former President Bill Clinton, of rape; proposing that the country conduct brutal methods of torture; and suggesting that South Korea and Japan be permitted to develop nuclear arms. Prominent Democrats say a more provocative approach is needed.

I have long struggled with how best to combat Trump. This article demonstrates that the pros are having a tough time. I would like to make an appeal that we set up a pinned post "war room." DU has done it in the past. A library of anti-Trump information and links. The sooner the better.

There is another very important mission that we, and the HRC campaign must undertake. We can continue the conventional style that we are accustomed to of course. But we must begin to educate ourselves and others on the techniques that Trump is using.

He IS a con man. He IS a salesman. He uses all the tricks of the trade. Most people don't know these tricks unless they have learned about these methods throughout their lives.

It would be invaluable to compile methods and examples of his duplicity. I have a wealth of resources that I would contribute to this effort. For example:

1. Oral Persuasion Technique: Scapegoating

This technique finds someone or something to blame the current problems on. Scapegoating is often used in politics when, for example, the party out of power blames all the problems on the party in power. Or, maybe, immigrants?

2. Oral Persuasion Technique: Nostalgia

Some speakers use a technique that makes their audience look back to a better time in history. They remind their audience of a time when life was simpler and better. The nostalgia technique appeals to a lot of people who can actually remember a better time. It often works best on older audiences. "Make America Great Again" anyone?

3. Oral Persuasion Technique: Rule of Three

I have called Trump "Donny Three Times" many times. I see his techniques. Saying something three times carries weight. You can say it in slightly different ways each time. Three times is the sign of the powerful speaker. Using the Rule of Three allows you to express concepts more completely, emphasize your points, and increase the memorability of your message. (“That’s the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth”) Watch Trump on his stump speeches. "Lying Ted!" "Lyyyying Ted!" "He's lying Ted!" Anyone?

That statement, and others like it, make the news clips and is reinforced all day long by the media.

Again, we need to extract these items and expose him. These are just a few of hundreds of examples. I am working on a video that I hope will help educate the masses. What do you all think?

Watch the vid. Tip of the iceberg.

Go Big and Then Small

A person will begin by making a large, often unrealistic demand/request. "some say Ban all Muslims" We say no way! That's crazy.

The person responds by making a much smaller request, with often comes off as conciliatory. "just a suggestion."

Every campaign needs a positive message and a negative message to frame and tear apart the opponent. She is at her BEST when she is on OFFENSE tearing up FrankenTrump while also showing what she will do instead.

This rally speech a few days ago in San Jose was PERFECT.

the only loser would be those in the media who ache for a horse race. But she isn't.

his claim to fame is his business expertise...you attack him by the business he failed st and the money people lost...the lives of people he ruined...you find his VICTIMS,

he claims to be "smart" go at his ignorance....

he claims to love women, blacks, hispanics....you play his videos and read his words....a perfect commercial would be having a latino lady recite all of trumps words concerning latinos....mexicans...everything that is out there...while showing trump in the back ground pounding his fists....follow suit every where else

of course make social security, medicare, medicaid big issue that trump...and conservatives wish to destroy....use elderly couples in TV ads....

to push the middle to hillary won't take huge effort

I'm torn a little by the delivery. She's been scowling and mad when she talks about him. Would it be better if she smiles sarcastically? Any thoughts?

And maybe that's the key – to make sure the person gets under his skin. Because the more rattled he is, the more likely he is to fly off the handle and make mistakes that no one can deny.

I would've thought, "Piece of cake!" But now I feel like I don't know anything anymore.

One one hand, I tell myself that the general election is a whole different ballgame; the American electorate at large is far more discriminating than the tiny percentage that voted in the Repub primary. But then I worry every time I watch the news, because it seems like MSM is determined to make this a horse race, despite the fact that our country's future is at stake.

I've heard people say that Elizabeth Warren is doing a kick-ass job, and I'd agree with that. But then I've heard others say that they think she's not effective. It's hard to see it from someone else's perspective. I personally can't fathom how anyone can think Trump is worth the dirt on the bottom of your shoe, so I'm at a little bit of a loss.
