Former DNC Chair, Vermont senator, and maverick presidential candidate, Howard Dean speaks with MSNBC about Bernie Sanders' calls for high-ranking Democrats Dannel Malloy and Barney Frank to step aside from their leadership positions at the DNC convention.
HOWARD DEAN: I think this a problem, I wish he would stop doing this. We have a streak of him -- he never quits, he is a tough guy, obivously we admire that in a politician. But this attempt to undo the rules, this business in CA of trying to get a federal judge to extend the registration.
First of all, they are changing the rules after the fact, second of all, they are not going to happen. So he is giving his supporters false hope that somehow this is going to change, this is all going to work out [for Bernie]. This is not what he needs to be doing at this particular time.

(30,058 posts)delegates before California votes are counted. He doesn't like the super delegates but tells his supporters the SD's are going to flip and he will win, he says Hillary has to have 2383 in pledged delegates. Even if he wins 100% in California he will not have enough delegates to make 2383. Sad, not based in reality.

(6,974 posts)That Bernie Sanders will win California. Honestly, I'm not expecting an 18 point win by Hillary Clinton, but a solid win. Many of the news outlets have chosen to make this a horse race off the strength of one PPIC poll showing the race tightening between Sanders/Clinton. However, the methodology of this poll has come under question. It has unusual cross tabs which don't add up, a very small voter sampling (532), and a Moe of 5.7% IIRC.
Per Nate Silver, Hillary Clinton has a 96% chance of winning Ca. as of May 30th, 2016.
But, we'll see for sure next Tuesday.

(51,550 posts)To suggest he can change them at the end of the primary season--after he lost--is not only dishonest, but shows no sense of fairness.

(4,665 posts)Gov. Dean 'though. He was chair of the DNC (and delivering Democratic landslides) when the seat became free and Sanders ran.
