Bernie Sanders jabs back at Jerry Brown, ‘Democratic establishment’ ~ (HRC GP)

EMERYVILLE
Bernie Sanders on Tuesday jabbed back at Gov. Jerry Brown’s endorsement of Hillary Clinton in the presidential campaign, saying he is accustomed to opposition from “the Democratic establishment.”

“I will tell you that in every state that we have gone into, we have taken on the entire Democratic establishment,” Sanders said in response to a question about the Democratic governor’s endorsement. “It’s not surprising to me that, you know, we will have the Democratic establishment supporting Hillary Clinton.”

He added, “I like Jerry Brown, but people can make their own choices.”

One week before California’s June 7 primary, Sanders stopped for reporters in a hotel hallway after leaving a news conference without taking any questions.

When pressed, he said of the event with members of the California Nurses Association, “It was more of a rally, but what’s on your mind?”

Sanders continues to campaign furiously in California, despite Clinton’s near-lock on the nomination. After spending time in the Central Valley in recent days, the Vermont senator said he has not studied controversial proposals to increase pumping from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. He gave a similar response earlier this month.

“Actually, it’s not an issue that I have studied,” Sanders said. “I mean, I think clearly there’s going to have to be more federal, state and local cooperation in a crisis situation.”

It's starting to look and feel like CA is going to be another OH, NY or PA for Bernie. Maybe not as large of a margin, but he's definitely hyping it up to the extent that he won't be able to show his face if he loses. Completely neglecting NJ, a place that he needs to win big in as well. I wonder if he is going to end the night in Vermont.

If I was a member of the Press Corps covering Senator Three Bills, I would have bought a plane ticket home weeks ago, when you could get them cheaper...the last time Bernie threw a snit after losing a primary, he stranded a LOT of people.

He's not going to be able to sit on the backbench anymore and make speeches. He's going to be expected lead and that's clearly not his forte.

He'll take a job at a liberal think tank and frame it as "continuing his revolution".

1. There's a lot of usable oppo research out there, some has been published, but there's probably plenty the RNC has on ice. He could see a challenge, and VT is a smaller universe of people to convince.

2. He's had to move away from some popular VT positions to appeal nationally.

3. He can't make big money making corporate speeches if he stays in the Senate.

4. Same deal with writing a book--no cash for himself.

If he quits, he can find himself rich as hell in no time--ask Sarah Palin.

Only problem with that scenario is if Clinton asks him to serve as, say, Secretary of Labor. Then he would have to delay that book/speech deal for four to eight years, depending on how long he wants the job.
