Tad Devine on with Tweety Now

Listing all the pretend reasons to believe Sanders still has a shot at the nomination after he has been absolutely slaughtered Tuesday in the popular vote, the pledged delegate count and the super delegate count.

"Because the polls show Sanders beating Trump by a huge margin while Hillary only beats him by an enormous margin."

7. Tad, that's not the way it works. Our nominee isn't determined by some third-party polls....

I'm getting really annoyed by the Sanders campaign saying he'll beat Trump by a larger margin than Hillary. Say that's true, at least as far as current polls go. It's absolutely meaningless, not only because those polls are skewed because there's not yet an official presumptive Democratic nominee and people are dividing their votes between the two of them, but also because this is still the primary. And if you don't win the primary, you don't get to run against Trump in the GE.

"The populist candidate will persuade the elite establishment to overturn the will of the people."

Ranks right up there with, "I'm a Democrat now."
