In this case it is about a dishonorable ex-secret service agent who is going to write a tell all book about the Clintons

I have no doubt he is being paid by the right wingers from the Arkansas Project

use the word "group". I was thinking it referred to something more general, outside of DU.

I would have been scratching my head trying to figure out what BSG is. I mostly stay out of the groups. I'm tired of the fighting. It's time to start pulling together to beat Trump.

his word. This word of a person who is disgracing the secret service by violating the trust the agency had that he would honor confidentiality. Which also puts suspicion on HIM as to just how honest he is.

Obviously, he is doing this for the money, which further adds to his credibility

... the "law"? I hope the latter, for the sake of all those families who have to tolerate the Secret Service in their lives. I know that people who work for the queen of England have to sign firm contracts prohibiting such books.

heard about a restraining order, and also legal action taken against him.

I agree with you, they should be prohibited from such things as in England

An interesting question though is that the Clinton's are under currently under Secret Service protection, so perhaps that might protect their personal confidentiality. I don't know

but the DO swear an oath which includes a promise to serve in a manner "worthy of trust and confidence,". Though there does not seem to be any sanction attached to violating that oath ... beyond, of course, being an absolute pariah in the protective service community.
