Despite the furor over her ­e-mail server, Hillary Clinton got a warm welcome from a wealthy Hamptons crowd Saturday.

Hillary was fêted at a fund-raiser on the grounds of the Water Mill, LI, home of Selma and Artie Rabin. Guests included Sen. Cory Booker, Bernard Schwartz, Marc Lasry, Rep. Carolyn Maloney, Donna Karan, Joy Behar and Peter Glazier, plus Bill, Chelsea and Marc Mezvinsky.

One attendee said Hillary seemed “energetic” and spoke for 15 minutes about building on the achievements of the past eight years, creating a better life for the next generation, including her granddaughter Charlotte, and testifying before the House Select Committee on Benghazi in October.

but in all seriousness; the reason that since 1992 Dems actually win popular elections (5 for 6 is the same record the GOP had from 1968-1988, when Dems were in the wilderness) is because Clinton showed that the wealthy can pay their fair share but not be "eaten" as some want to do. I think pragmatism is a wonderful thing; perfect should never be the enemy of good. I mean hey, maybe if we had a time machine, we could see what happens with a Sanders nomination (or a Biden one) where Dems can't raise much cash and get cleaned out by the Trump or Koch billions. But in the real world, not gonna happen.
