How anybody could sit home and not vote because their candidate did not win a primary is beyond the pale.

(12,415 posts)in protecting and enlarging the vote, whatever the resistance of the administration and vocal resistance as ineffective or more ineffective than ever, it would behoove the general party to make this a core issue a lot more strongly instead of sacrificing more votes to the GOP strategy- again- to the threatening of our already scarily reduced democracy.
It is worth more than ever for people to make sacrifices and risks such as these and at the very least demand that of the enfeebled party establishment. Some people have an easier time registering to vote than others. Others cannot vote at all due to GOP political profiling.
Lets start making important issues count in all campaigns.

(15,444 posts)Hillary Clinton. It makes it all acceptable to them just because he refuses to be "berned". In their quest to destroy the Democratic Party from the inside out, they'll destroy anyone who isn't on board with their misguided vision.
Cha
(320,534 posts)their group think is.
But, the word "blowback" gives me solace when I think of the inevitability of it all.
They are definitely not going to destroy John Lewis or President Barack Obama.. or SOS Hillary Clinton.

(12,587 posts)The take down of John Lewis was a Big Fail, creating a firestorm of criticism. As in, how dare you spit in the face of a respected, even beloved civil rights icon. Instead the Saint Bernard Brigade turned their attention to Jonathan Capehart. Who also refuses to stand down.
If this is the wooing of the AA community, it's pretty twisted and self-destructive.

(16,508 posts)had the courage to walk a single inch in his shoes. Well, maybe the courage to re-enact Bloody Sunday fifty years after the fact, but not when it was happening, with police batons, attack dogs, tear gas, and a very real possibility of death. When you look at John Lewis, you see a true American hero who repeatedly placed his life on the line to secure the rights of full citizenship for all of us. Knowing what he went through to make sure everyone could vote, it is beyond belief that people (alleged progressives at that) are demonizing him simply for voicing his preference in the upcoming election. Bernie Sanders should be mortified, and should denounce this attempted take-down in the strongest of terms. He either knows and doesn't care, or is far too clueless to take seriously.
