Should Hillary contest Universal Health Care in the primaries? Yep!

In 2008 Hillary tirelessly pointed out what was wrong with Barack Obama's voluntary care. She knew Mandates were not popular but she was absolutely correct:

This time round, her opponent isn't settling for unworkable, he's shooting for impossible. In his own words:

I am not convinced that either Hillary or Barack are ready to go up against the carriers (health insurance companies) the way Bernie is, but I guess it doesnt matter until we have a House and Senate that doesnt hate the rest of the country.

The reason Bernie has been saying the same thing for 40 years is because they haven't had a chance of getting done in all that time.


Now he is still at it.

It is great to vote for things you would like to have.

But it isn't great to vote for someone who is telling you he's going to give you now what he hasn't been able to deliver for the last 40 years.

Nothing we had before ACA. It still needs improvement. When it becomes important enough to everyone then we can get the vote out to elect Democrats on every level. Until then the GOP will control what we get.

Insurers required to drop pre-existing condition exemptions.

Insurers required to offer insurance to everyone.

Insurers required to extend family coverage to our children in school up to 26.

Progressive tax subsidies beginning just under $50,000 making insurance premiums affordable for low-income families and individuals.

Who could have foreseen more people getting healthcare could cost more money? Sooo unexpected, right? "This is the worst socialist crap ever foisted on America!"

Now - you want to talk to this country about universal health care?

started with one year pre-existing condition rider.

No problem when you're young, but as you get a little older, you pick up some baggage.

No problem when you have the same job and insurance for decades. But that was the old America.

Then you get to rejection of your insurance application. You are not a good risk - which makes your employer start to eyeball you!

Or you lie - and your claim is then rejected, and it's never just one claim! It cascades into insolvency while they still deduct your useless premium out of your paycheck!

The Affordable Care Act is a good start. The best we could get. And it is reviled!

So when I hear, "Vote for me and together we will get universal health care coverage" I wonder just what America these people live in?

Didn't Vermont reject universal health care? That can't be the place then...
