Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumWell, GDP finally pushed me here
For those of you who see me over there, Hi! For those of you who don't know me, I'm a pretty active HRC supporter who regularly gets in tussles in GDP, primarily around the baffling misunderstandings of polls, the differences among them and why online widget polls mean exactly jack shit. I'm a statistical analyst by trade and try to talk about numbers as a neutral party, but that is getting increasingly harder to do.
GDP had just gone way too conspiracy theory crazy for my taste in the wake of the data beach, and I am now preparing for the inevitable day when every possible excuse imaginable (and some that aren't imaginable) are given for why Clinton, and not Sanders, wins the nomination handily. Of course, not one of the excuses will be that more people voted for her than Sanders.
As I navigate the toxic river that is GDP, I find that I finally have to turn to the Clinton group as a bastian of calm and tranquility.
So hello to all. Let's see this through!

(10,410 posts)I've been here since the 2001 *selection and I have great admiration for Mr. Sanders, always have, but his supporters are acting like storm troopers and bullies and have me seriously considering leaving DU. We've been through a lot here, but I will not be intimidated by childish behavior and this "if my candidate doesn't win, I won't vote" crap. After the dust settles, and the primaries are over and we have an official candidate, I intend to vote for that candidate, no matter what. I didn't vote for Hillary when she ran against Barack Obama, because I felt he was the better candidate. The Hillary supporters here didn't act like fools and berate those of us who choose differently. This time, I will vote for her. We need a women President, and she is my candidate, and all the diva's in the Bernie group will not change my mind by their asshat behavior, in fact it drives me further and further away. So Godhumor, we are in this thing together

(318,969 posts)I had to double check thinking I went into GDP.. I am a little sleepy but that was my reaction. That's where I always see you.
Welcome to Hillary's Group.. nice to see you for whatever reason.
It is getting beyond deep over there with their CT over everything.. I can imagine it drives someone who does statistical analysis especially
Seein' it through!
Tough and as Strong as Hillary.

(11,243 posts)I spend a great deal of my time over there trying to explain polls and clickbait too. And logical fallacies. The difference between rhetoric and actual facts. What the word "fact" means. Sigh.... Oh well.
Hey, off topic, but can someone clue me in on the meaning of "camp weathervane"? I get these drive-by responses that seem to consist primarily of "F you camp weathervane bitchmonster!!!!!! You suck oligarch dick and so does your mom!!!!" OK so, not those exact words. But the f-bomb combined with weathervane stuff is mentioned frequently and I don't understand the weathervane reference.

Wow, that is really offensive. Well now I know better how to respond.

(1,514 posts)... but stuff from GD Primaries keeps showing up on the latest and greatest, even though I've trashed it. I'd like to be BS-Free until Super Tuesday at least, when reality is going to hit BS supporters upside the head with great force.

(31,454 posts)since I never view the Greatest, I'm not sure how that works. I have several groups in my trash bin, and several folks on Ignore. I never see their stuff, and that's the way I like it.

(31,454 posts)see it posted. I checked here first, and then I tried LBN. I did a search, and the thread came up. Before I knew it, I had posted a reply, and never noticed that it was GDP.
Since GDP is in my trash bin, I didn't think I'd be able to see posts in that forum. I learn something new everyday.

(12,448 posts)You're right; GDP is a cesspool. I never post there anymore. The hatred for Hillary is appalling. I understand supporting a candidate I do not support, but some Sanders supporters go way beyond that. I have enjoyed your reasoned and informative posts there. You're a lot braver than I am!

(89,967 posts)I hardly post here anymore. I, too, am an active HRC supporter and I've admired her since I first learned about her in 1992. I think she'll make a GREAT president, and frankly, I've been waiting to vote for someone like her - as first woman President - ever since I became old enough to vote.
It's so sad what DU has become - I've been here since 2001 and I've NEVER seen it this nasty.

... and responses in threads. Your posts have been informative and enlightening.
The problem is that actual facts have become anathema to many on this website - those who would rather believe in unfounded CTs than indisputable evidence.
There actually WAS a time when facts outweighed all other considerations on DU. Sadly, those days are gone.
Welcome to our group.

(98,883 posts)extreme disservice to their candidate.
Some of the most vile names have been hurled at Hillary, and not surprisingly similar things hurled at President Obama.
For some folks they really have no shame. I suspect some intentionally post those comments, not to engage in any meaningful dialog or discussion, but to incite anger from the other side. It is a very self-destructive behavior
