The three delusions driving the Cruz and Sanders campaigns

Good read by Stephen Stromberg, WAPO Editorial Writer.

IOWA CITY — Ted Cruz is the Bernie Sanders of the Republican race, and Bernie Sanders the Ted Cruz of the Democratic race. No matter how you look at it, three delusions drive both candidates’ campaign narratives.

Delusion Number 1: We will transform the country, uniting it behind an expansive agenda that will move the nation’s politics sharply away from center. The country must see that it agrees with us and has all along.

snip
Delusion Number 2: The nation is primed for a revolution because things are terrible.

snip
Delusion Number 3: The country is in its current state because of the corrupt or otherwise illegitimate actions of others.

This is still the United States of America, but the extremes on both sides of the political horseshoe want to make it the Divided States of America. You can't get more un-American than that.

their own damn agenda. They couldn't do it on facts.

We all know what a sick liar ted cruz is... this writer is comparing cruz to sanders!

"sanders hyperbole".. that's the problem, isn't it.. right there.

Mahalo for this, brer!

and the republicons who refused to help only vowed obstruction. And, then there were those who whined at everything.. and refuse to acknowledge his accomplishments.

Everyone seems to forget the horrible state this country was in after 8 years of republican rule under Bush.

With all the problems we still have now, its almost like heaven compared to then.

It would have been ok if only I had quoted Susan Sarandon.
